I'm working on that stacked radiator intercooler setup I showed you earlier.

After doing some measuring I wonder if a custom radiator support will give a bit more room if the hoop were tied to your crash beam and open up the sheet metal a tad more. But I understand the added costs.

I'm also running the 63 gtx3071 now too. I love it!! It really feels like stock but falls a tad flat at redline. This is on a custom rotated setup. I can only imagine what it feels like with the low mount.
It feels like stock to me.

One other thing I'd like to see is egbp measured. I'm just curious if the reduced header volume lowers the required exhaust pressure by significant amounts. I'm sure theres a difference but it would be cool to see how much.

Nice looking kit. Is that big of an intercooler really needed?

On a site note you might want to try something like this for heat-shielding instead of that wrap; http://www.turbosource.com/product-p/ts3-03-40501.htm

...all at prices that make Swaintech look like a dimestore alternative... $550 for just the turbine housing? So it would cost more to heat shield the header than the header cost in the first place... brilliant!

I guess thats what happens when you pay a welder employee $10 an hour @ mass production rate on a jig....

You really have no clue, and if those price tags scare you, you have no business owning a " fast car".....

I guess we might as well close down the forums, because 99% of us apparently have no business being here or owning our cars...

You signed up just to stir the pot, then? Or to flaunt that you have more money than brains? I mean really, inconel shielding on a stainless header? That's a little backwards. The ACL HR140 shielding should perform equally well and not cost $2k+ to shield a header.

Nice work.

Low mount stuff been an off the shelf item in australia from AM Auto for years now. Googling Tino's impreza, Kaiser's ej235, or Nick's H6 impreza.

But cad models make it look super pretty.

With over 26" removed from the pressure side, plus our already low volume header design...

Compared to many that have the bigger is better mentality, it's not that big.

Thanks for the kind words.

I've seen those projects, long ago, but there's a big difference between a custom fabricated setup, and one that's designed, engineered and made to just bolts on. Don't get me wrong, those are cool projects, just different.

I'm puzzled by the fact a " fast car " would need heat sheilding. I'm doing 9.5's @ 146 still drive the car on the street and have no heat shielding.

Well the idea is that egbp data can help one choose a/r and turbine selection a tad better other than just the dyno plots. I'd think that a/r selection should be a tad different than a traditional up pipe version.
For example evos can get away with .63 housings in combinations that would choke a suby. It would be nice to look at another data set.
Theoretically this setup should allow a tad more top end with the smaller turbine or better spool with the larger turbine, but the dyno plot will only show the tuners tuning strategy. We can only guess the reason for a torque fall off for example. Anyways just a thought.

It would be good data since you have different housing and are switching turbos.

Thanks for the kind words! The Tial housing is the only way to fit the turbo in that location. This setup should produce better numbers than traditionally located TS turbos though

I agree that the data would be useful to some, but I think the majority are going to choose the A/R based on the plot and the results they are looking for. Maybe I'm wrong.

The really nice part is how easy it is to change the turbine out. Drop the subframe support, remove 3 v-bands and you're there. The turbo itself doesn't even have to come out or get disconnected. Half a day with a tuner and you can swap them out for different events, daily driving etc. Much easier than changing an oil pickup

Not a bad price at all!! Great material, solid engineering and being one of the first people to own it, I'd have thrown that down in a heartbeat. Pretty impressive for right out of the gate from R&D.

Does that include the IC piping also?

Thanks for the kind words!

That price does not include I/C piping for a couple reasons. First it was pretty cheap and quick to order some aluminum tubing and put it all together. I hate charging people more for what they could do fairly easily themselves. Second, I've been playing with different I/C tubing materials to cut down on heat being transfered into the tube. IMO a product that cuts the temps and possibly made from a single piece of tube would be worth paying for

Thanks. Not quite to market yet. Still lots of testing to do and we haven't broken anything yet

Does price cover scavenge pump and I would say turbo would not be included.

Does not cover scavenge pump. The mounting bracket does work with a few different Mocal scavenge pumps though, and likely others. I happened to go with the super duty big mamma of scavenge pumps because I take this car on 800+ mile road trips and never want to have to explain to bubba the fix-it guy (since I'll likely break down in the sticks with no tools) what a scavenge pump is. A track car that has a regular teardown schedule could certainly do just fine with a less than magnificent pump.

Turbo is not included as well.

While I agree with this, and anyone who is willing to tear apart their car to use this, will probably have the knowledge to do it, might be worth putting a little note or something in the kit / or on the purchasing page what pieces / bends you need for it to be functional. Just a thought - I'm currently building my FMIC pipes right now, and just wish I had a cheat sheet haha. Kinda fun, but disappointing I paid almost 200 for FMIC pipes that were supposed to fit, but didn't.

/End OT FMIC Pipe rant

There will be lots of info/notes available as we get ready to go production. I will basically be spelling out everything we use and/or know that fits/works.
