If you do sell it make sure it goes to a good home, don't just sell it to the first person with some money.

I just read through your whole thread on this. I feel your pain. Every time I have started working on my '78 Pinto Cruzin' Wagon something comes up. Roof gets blown off the house -$16k, motor in the DD implodes -$8k (terrible mechanic), baby -$$$$$$. Take some time off. It isn't eating your food or costing you any more money stashed away in the corner. Your FF-1 will be there when you are ready to work on it again. Just remember back to when you first got it to run and tooled around the neighborhood; you can have that feeling again. I'd be in for a PP donation to see this thing run again. In the meantime, start selling your old parts that you aren't going to use to help build back up your funds. |

wow... i spent 2 hours at work going through every page of this thread, telling myself not to simply jump to the last page to see how the build ends up... and about pages back i read the bad news... i have to say this is absolutely terrible, and i really feel bad for you, Kosta. i hope that you find a solution to the problem, and you finish this build. don't let the last 5 years go to waste.

I am an old fart and believe very strongly in what makes us individuals leads us to do what we do right from birth. Kosta you have given me and likely all of the sane people who have read your amazing story of your 1970 Subaru FF1 build a wee window into what makes you who you are. I doubt very much that in your internal fibre you want to walk away from the amazing work that is yours and yours only, not for anyone else to claim. I wish you sound judgement going forward and I must say thank you very much for showing us a small portion of who you are thru this "FANTASTIC" build you have done.
If you would be so kind as to PM me I have other thoughts that I would like to share with you. Regards, Outlaw57 |

So if we start a "Save Kosta's Dream" foundation I want in! I would love to see this finished by the man who started it and brought it to where it is today.

We should have Nick buy it, then finish it with money solely from our donations/contributions, then we should donate it back to Kosta.
All would be right with the world at that moment. Or just have the project sponsored through KickStarter.com. |

That is just incredibly awesome. Reminds me of the old '71 or '72 Skyline GTR or '70 Toyota Celica!

Kostamojen... you are doing a realy good job there man! Ive been watching this thread a long time. Well done! Keep on this! We know you love it! Even if it takes you double time than you first thought... Salutes from Greece!
p.s. you have inspired me to start my own project for restoration! (1979 Rex) ..so you know that you are not alone! FFs are real rare also in Greece... I think that Ive seen 1 or 2 around Athens the last five years... I will check the thread again in case we can find any spares around here... or may from my service engineer who is doing subarus from 1979. |
