Default Baja seats are awful. Any solutions?

My wife and I are coming out of a Camry, which I can't say anything bad about. We love our new (to us) Baja, but the seats are just very uncomfortable. Most noticeable of course on longer trips, anything over a grocery run. Ours is a 2006 Sport. Do any of you have a good solution for this? Money is always a concern, but I would unload a few semolians for a good remedy for this. Thank you very much.

I spent $70 on a pair of front seats from a 99 outback limited. put them in the Baja, and have loved them. We have done several long trips and they are nice.

The foam wears out very quickly, I'm on to replacing the seat form for the 3rd or 4th time. I'm going to try adding an inch of memory foam on top this time. Also to boost it up a bit they sit too low.

For good side-support, any STI seat up to 2007 are bolt on. They are also a lot more comfortable (my opinion) than the stock Baja seats.

I have not done it yet, but my seats with 108K are pretty beat on the foam, I will likely get the foam rebuilt by an upolstery shop, get an inch of memory foam thrown on top and replace the vinyl sides with leather sides (keeping the stock cloth middles)

Any tricks to removing the bottom cover? I'd hate to tear it up, since replacements are an arm and a leg. Have any of you tried a gel pad?

- Apply downward pressure unhook plastic clips
- Using needle nose pliers open cow ring snaps which attach the seat to the foam. There should be 4 of them.

- I used zip ties to re attach the cover, start at the back tightening them, THe micro pliers craftsman kit helps with the snips to reach in an trim the extra once they are tight.
- Then do the forward ones.
- Then again downward pressure and re-hook the plastic clips around the edges.
