Wow thats an amazing color, also it looks very clean. Do you do this professionally?? I'm planning to have my car dipped, I would really like a new look

Nice! That's bad ass man. Let us know how it holds up. Does it pose a risk to your factory paint if/when removed?

I dont do it professionally, just took my time. When you take it off, I have found that the paint under it actually looks better than it did before. Its like a stick on clay bar!

There are also two videos a few pages back that I posted of removal, and the paint actually looks cleaner than before. Its all about an even thick build-up so you can actually peel it off!

I used the pre-thinned gallons from dipyourcar.com. Next time I will buy the dip myself and thin it. Most people use a 1:1 ratio.

My project for the past weekend. Did the stock '06 rims and the grill surround. Painted the calipers while I had the wheels of. Great cheap way to make your car look good. Love this stuff!!

You painted your calipers with plasti-dip?
Do you have any idea how hot those bad boys get? Calipers require high temp materials. |

Can you guys chime in on how this matches the oem dash in a 05 sti? (black)
I want coat my gauge pod with it, but it has a good bit of crevices that are hard to dust off. Does dust stick to the plasti dip pretty good? ![]() This is actually the same color as mine (and the same gauge pod actually). It's def not a bad match, but i think the difference is the kicker. Is there a somewhat glossier finish that might match better? Last edited by IceWilly; 09-28-2012 at 01:14 PM. |

If you spray close to the surface the layers will come out more glossy. normally dust sticks pretty good to it. can probably clean it with a brush tho. if you dont like it you can peel it off.

Just ordered a wheel kit from dipyourcar.com
Does anyone have experience with their shipping? How long does it usually take? I'm trying to get my wheels dipped before winter mode. |

I'm thinking about dipping my front lip white, but I've read time and again about how the white gets filthy. Anyone try a clear layer on top of the dip to help with clean-up and dirt resistance?
I've read about this matte clear, but I haven't seen it. Last edited by Decipher; 10-14-2012 at 10:35 AM. |

Can't remember if I posted mine up or not. Did my car a while back.
![]() ![]() And did a tutorial on the process: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=h4NUjVh3zTA It was a fun project. So far it's been about 2,000 miles and two months. I've been on the highway with it quite a bit, and I've scrubbed the hell out of it in the car wash, and it still looks new. Definitely a good investment if you just want to clean up the look of your car (which I obviously had to). |
