Default Needing new struts

Hey everybody. I was at my mechanic's shop getting an alignment done and they told me that some of my wear issue might be due to my struts going out. I have 112k on them so it is probably a good idea to get them replaced anyways.

They told me about KYB and after checking them out online. I saw they have the gr2 that will mount up and are OE equivalent.

Do any of you guys have any experience with this series strut or can you recommend and other brands that I can check out? I would like something similar to the factory feel.

the KYB GR2s are great struts. If you wanted something with a little bit more performance but can still have the "factory feel", I would say check out the KYB AGXs. They have adjustable dampening.

If you go with kyb go and spend a little bit more on the agx's worth it in the long run

I am really liking the reviews on the tokico d spec struts. Is there any need for the spacer like with the kybs?

Also, I have started to think about having them throw some new springs on there since they are disassembling my suspension. What is a fairly inexpensive spring that wont drop the ride height more than an inch. And also match up well with the tokico struts. Seems like the STI pinks are a popular choice but will they drop me down more than an inch?

I found these on Amazon
Tokico DSP-10 D-Spec 16-Way Shock for Subaru WRX : Amazon.com : AutomotiveTokico DSP-10 D-Spec 16-Way Shock for Subaru WRX : Amazon.com : Automotive

They have the same part number as the ones TiC sells so that means they are the same item right? The word "shock" throws me off but it shows the correct picture. Plus they are $300 bucks cheaper.

These are the ones you mean kpluiten?

That's probably them. I don't know the part numbers off hand, though. It's been a while since I bought mine. I can tell you that I paired mine with RCE wagon specific springs and Group-N top hats and absolutely loved them. I have since upgraded to KW Variant 3 coilovers, but I still miss the comfort and adjustability of the D-specs. I would have never sold them if I didn't have to for my 114.3 swap.
