Default $6 rain gutter into Bottom Line Side Skirts

Another DIY project...
I bought 10' rain gutter from Home Depot for $6, then cut it in half, cut out the widest sections, painted them semi gloss black, attached them to stock WRX side skirts with 6 screws. Voila!
Rain gutter - $6
Semi gloss black paint - $3
12 screws - $1
Total cost: $10
P.S. Comments are welcome, but if you don't like it and going to talk crap, go ahead and spend $300 on similar pieces.

Let the pictures talk:

none of the pictures of them on the car are working for me. Please fix, I'm rather interested in the outcome.

I have front spats, without them those bottom line side skirts would look even better if you extend them all the way to the front, but you have to get 2 rain gutters to make them (you'll need 6' on each side).

Clever idea, and looks pretty damn good. I think they would look better if they extended out to the width of the front spats, but the gutters might not be tall/wide enough to provide enough material to do that.

Ditto for this request!

I've got an '03 bug eye, I wonder if there's a similar look for my car as well.

Nice DIY. It looks like the part used is the one that is mostly horizontal, and a small part that transitions to vertical.

There is. Light output is a downgrade from the oem reflectors out the box. Good platform for DIY though.
Don't bother buying the one bundled with a plug-n-play HID kit; it just makes the output look brighter but at the wrong places.

Easiest retrofit would be a Morimoto Mini H1. But it can take bigger (and better ones):

I have done something very similar to this on my car with metal pieces. It's not completed entirely but I will post pics when I get home to show the general idea.

I will be using a block of molded wood and a rubber mallet to curve the ends so it fits with the body line better.
