Default Cheap OEM EGR/Air pump delete plates!

So today Im replacing head gaskets on a 06 Tribeca..... and I see this.....

Part# and $$ is on post#3

If this is something that has been discussed let me know, did a search and nothing came up.

*Update, on the RH side head you will need to drill the lower hole of the block off plate ever so slightly larger. The hole does not line up perfect but its really close. If you drill it larger it work just fine.

Part# 14754AA050

Retail $3.70

HERE you go kids!!! Sorry to the guys who make these as aftermarket.

Peeps should do research like this.

Pulled it off and test fitted it onto a set of 07 STi heads I have here in the shop. Bolts up exactly and uses the same metal gasket.

I realise what you were pointing out, I just wondered why you were upset that the air pump was missing, and why you would replace it! ( and not sure what a Ceap plate was....)

Good find!

You can use the same plate for both sides. That shape for the other side is merely looks. The bolt pattern is the same and its just a flat plate that you can never see anyways. I checked it against both sides and it will work just fine. One plate is behind the Up pipe and you will never see it even if you were that picky.

i wasnt really worried about the looks of the plate. it was just the gasket has a different seal than the other. (should have specified that)
the same gasket could be used for both sides?

What gasket PN (or #s) is needed? Or would it just be cheaper to make your own gasket out of RTV?

-edit, helps if I read. Looks like I can just re-use the stock gaskets.. Derp Derp.

I have the plates but haven't installed them. I will take some pictures when I get to it if if nobody else knows.

But an FYI for anyone ordering them, expect a wait. I ordered mine at the dealer here and there was only one in the country at the time. And the other had to come from over seas.

Any chance to post pics of plates and gaskets? What part number for the gaskets? Are you sure the getting the same gaskets will seal on both sides driver/passenger, it is a different geometry and contact patch.

It works just fine i got a set and we installed them on my friends '12 sti with no problems. But as noted you will have to drill the holes out a bit for the odd sized one and yes the original stock gasket worked just fine and has had over 5k miles on it already. For $7 a set you cant go wrong lol.

The one on the Left has been drilled to fit the driver side.
