Default Got my first WRX

Got it saturday.

From Brandon Tomes subie in McKinney.

Talked to the salesman (sti owner and NASIOC member) and he said it was owned by another Nasioc member (cant remember name).

Its a Blue 09 with Hella horns (which i think are borked cause they sound like road runners little brother) and 60k on the dash.

Absolutely love it. Excellent care was taken to this car and i am sad that the owner had to give it up for a Civic.

Anyways, still learning the car, and relearning how to drive a stick (last time was in 05 in a bronco 2).

Stand in front of the hellas and have a friend push the horn. Youll know if they are broken or not lol.

Im thinking its something stupid simple like bad relay, only had the car 2 days and 90% of thats been getting used to the car and how it shifts.

i am going to make a video of how they sit now, just for giggles, because everyone who hears them giggles about how retarded they sound.

It's either the relay or check the crimp connection from the wires to the horns.

And the first few months when after you get it, are the most fun filled driving moments

When I had Hellas I could barely hear them from inside the car but if you stand in front of them they blew you away.

Sounds like only one of the two is working if you only hear a high note. Probably just a loose wire or ground that came undone.

i think 14 pop clips, takes 5 minutes to take off. check connections for corrosion or crappy wiringing job. i installed mine a few weekends back and they arent that loud inside the cabin....but i scared the out of my gf when she walked infront of my car. youtube wrx bumper removal

btw welcome to ur newest addiction. u should find previous owner so u know what to expect.

fixed the horns. corrosion issues.

was able to pull the grill out without pulling front bumper off with a stubby screwdriver.

MUCH more manly horn.

during testing i was sitting in front of them and direct connected them to the battery.

it rattled my sinuses. i had to walk away for about 10 minutes because my brain stopped working. holy jesus those things are loud and why did i not know about them sooner.

sadly i know its an addiction. and i am already looking for exhaust, intake, suspension, bov...thank god the wife controls the money, otherwise i would be broke as funk right now.

Sigh

Get ready for the gangbang for saying you want a BOV.

That is a cardinal sin around here.

addiction is correct, my first was a 04 WRX limited which I just sold to a friend, then I got a FWD 93 impreza L which I still have and almost finished with a AWD conversion then its going up for sale, got a 05 Forester XT(great vehicle). traded the Forester in for a 2011 STi and thought I was done but now I'm getting a good deal on a friends 2000 2.5RS.
wow I have a problem!!!! yup, addiction.

I'm sure he meant the sound of that intake is good enough.

If you want a BOV do it. Who cares what anyone says. I had an HKS vta BOV and the sound was a little ridiculous. It also made my car run like ****, which is why I switched to a turbo XS recirculating BOV. Still get the sound without compromising drive ability.

Start with the intake and then exhaust. If your not happy with that, then get a louder exhaust, or a sound system.
