heyhey
i have a 2006 wrx sti and am wanting to lower it so the body sit's just above the tyre...im having no issues with the rear but the front seems to rub on the inside fender wall... im running xxr 530 18x8.75 +35'S on 225's with coilovers so i can go low but my problem is i dont want it scrubbing in the inner fender well. whats the trick you guys are using in the states to get your hawk eye STI's so low without scrubbing like a mofo in the front? this is where i am at atm....i could probably go maybe 5-10mm lower without it scrubbing but any lower the inner fender well scrubs like the middle of the tyre....should i just take out the inner fender well lining and go at it with a hammer bashing it out a bit where its rubbing to gain some more clearance? ![]() and here is the rear which i want the front to sit like ![]() ![]() dan

roll your fenders, and be sure to use a heat gun if you don't want your paint to chip off. then pull them out a bit at the top od the arch to get them where you want them. A bit od camber may help too. good luck!

Roll the fenders, pull the fenders, remove fender liner, add camber and smoke cigarettes
Check out the hellaflush threads, you can get some good insight there |

Step one: purchase vehicle with superb handling
Step two: purchase inferior replacement parts Step three: alter vehicle to reduce handling/functionality Step four: ????????? Step five: profit |

all those cars you are looking at rub.
period. they all do. they can say they don't, but they do. if you want to go low, get used to rubbing. if you dont want to worry about it, dont worry about getting any lower. |

its actually humorous how everyone carry's on about lowering a car :P my car is still very functional and still gets tracked....im not running ridiculous amounts of camber, and if anything having a better low center of gravity is going to be beneficial as long as it doesn't rub....
i do like the look of a stanced car, but i was just wondering how everyones doing it and if they were rubbing...pulling and rolling of fenders isn't going to solve my rubbing issue if i went lower because thats not where it would be rubbing if i went lower. too low to track you say? ![]() anyways i ended up lowering it a bit more (no rubbing) and got the height i wanted ![]() looks good now![]() |

realistically ill be going maybe 245's nextm i think 255's might be too aggressive....i was already using these tyres with my 18x8's so thought i would continue to use them untill they wear out, tyres aint cheap over here haha

agreed. theres no reason to waste perfectly good tires, so props for using them up first. i hate being wasteful! the difference between 255/35/18 an 255/40/17 is a couple hundred dollars, hence why i run 17" wheels (and lighter weight too).
Just for reference i am lowered on yellows, running 17x8.5 with 255s with roll/pull in the rear and absolutely nothing done to the fronts and i NEVER rub! and it even looks "aggressive", if your into that . So it can easily be done, you just have to have proper fitment |

Yet another bull**** post.
You should shut your mouth and post in threads that contain wankers that need to eat it. Oops that's my inner voice detecting horse ****. OP, you could pull the inner liners, do a little "massaging" then go to town with some good rubber coating.. |
