Default My impreza gf8 eg33

Hi , this is my low budget student gf8 eg33 .I have built last year in spring

look like the h6 are more common swap!

I buy the car,impreza brighton 5spd,2000 w 145 000km/ in the last january(everything stock)



after this i have swap the rear drum to disk brake(impreza 2007) and the front(wrx 2009)

when a was bored of the 2.2(1 month after) I found a 1999 outback swaped with an eg33 1994(165 000km) with a 5 speed sti jdm






the garage is not very big but its a go!


take it out of the outback



engine very dirty(valve cover+ head gasket to do)


ej22 out

eg33:new headgasket+valve cover and in with the sti 4.44

wiring start(with a fuc**** wrong harness of the outback)
the wiring was done an another time this summer with a new oem one




New one:
(look like oem)!!


rad fitment:
first one-
sentra radiator




its not a very good setup but was well until the new one
second one;

saab 900 radiator,vw expansion tank, upper rad support cut,lower hose=svx upper hose,upper hose=custom hose

really close with the crank pulley!

Very cool!

I would think the 4.44 5MT would be awfully short for the bigger engine. How is it to drive?

the h6 with 4.44=fun to drive, good response
for sure , the gear can be longer
I would like to try the eg33 with an 3.90<

I just install my tach modulator

after a badluck this summer(the bolt of the idler pully broke on the way to work)--yeah non-interference engine

new steering,cluster,seat,dash,etc





I made a shifter extansion at school



made an axelback with a magnaflow exhaust(stock exhaust line for now)

its a tdi?

Totally forgot about that.

My exhaust is similar to that one, except I used two small Magnaflow cats instead of the resonators he has. Here's a link to my thread about it:

where did you buy the magnaflow cat and resonator and how many $ you paid for the resonator?
I check at my local auto parts and they can't have it

I see on ebay the ar20 resonator(picture in my last post) for 40$ on ebay, don't know for now which one I gonna take!

do you have a sound clip of your car?

Sorry to bump an old thread. A first I was like, sweet an EG33 swap without hood pins, when I saw the latch assembly. Then I saw the black bolts.

yeah so its a good reason to bring an old thread back?

your right, first I didnt use hood pin with my radiator setup, but after that I change my radiator setup and keeping the latch but use hood pin for more security!

I can remove the hood pin but I dont want to see my hood pop off on the high way.
