Default timing belt issue

its been a while since i have posted here.... this is the situation.. sold house. building new one.... gf pregnant... car (2002 wrx) with 215k on it.... dont have a garage and dont want to go to a stealership right this second...

looks like the timing belt jumped or something failed... blew out and shattered what looks like a large plastic gear. i am no really sure. i havent spent much time in this engine. is this an interferance engine? why did subaru make part of the timing belt(whether it is a cam gear or some other part of the timing belt) plastic...even if it is a pull.... what the ****....

is my engine done?
