Yeah, we had a newer lancer for a little while and there was no key. It was just the keyless fob. Bit you couldn't start the car unless you had the fob in it. Seems like that's the same principal here. Or, like mentioned, someone could just smash your window and drive away.

Not a "ur too late/cool story bro" post, more of a source of info so you can succeed (and I can copy you) kinda thing.

Thanks, That is what I'm hoping! I'm thinking I may disable the steering wheel lock seeing as it looks like it is simple and it avoids have to leave a key in ignition...

excited to see how yours turns out. My wife bought me the full advanced keys kit and it's going to be getting installed into my 06 sti here soon. I'm thinking about putting my button where the cigarette lighter is so it's hidden beneath the little flip out thingy

You are a lucky man! From the sounds of it it should be pretty easy install, still not sure if im going to remove steering lock or put copy of key in ignition...

She have a sister?

I was thinking the same thing when I saw thus thread. Depending on how the OP does and his opinions on practicality, I may try this

What are you using the Autopage module for? I researched this system a couple of months ago. The Autopage module is a slick product. But to use it to bypass the key, it has to be programmed by a Autopage dealer. I have not found anyone local that would program it for me unless they installed the whole system. Do you have someone local that would do it for you?

I was gonna use basically a cut off key in iginition to bypass steering lock as opposed to removing the spring... I was wondering about the engine immobilizer/keysensor

I got a copy of the 'chip' made that uses a battery, I put the battery on a (hidden) switch, then put the 'chip' part in the Key cylender cap.

EDIT: I dont use the switch all the time, only if im parking in an odd area.
