Running 360/360 @ 20 PSI on my stock block (was 385/370 @ 22 PSI before i added a cat) with a .82 GT30R ... alot depends on what safety mods you have in addition to your power mods. Never had a hiccup. I have a lot of safety mods though. Keep in the intake temps cool and boost under control and that helps a lot. So I am not too much over 350, but have had a compression test and Blackstone labs test and both came back perfect.
good luck, dave |

I know this thread says 350+ but my question is geared toward 295-300 whp. I have 55k miles, Cobb stage 2 and want to get a stronger bov or bpv, a Cobb up pipe and intake & air box and possibly an ets tmic. I'd like to keep boost at 18.5 with a custom 92 octane tune. I'll be doing this before the end of the year. Should I replace pistons? Should I replace head gasket? What gauges should I add? I don't want to add gauges to look cool, just for safety.

As you add power increasing mods, you must also upgrade other supporting components that do not add power to keep it reliable. Many people neglect mods that are for safety/reliability because they do not add horsepower, and they would rather spend that money on more power. Hence, reliability suffers and stuff eventually breaks ... then they come on NASIOC and yell about how Subaru sucks. |

I guess my soobie noobie thought process was that bigger TMIC/cooler temps would prolong life/reliability at ANY increased power levels. Kinda like a "give back what you take out" mentality. I already got the PTP turbo blanket, and am debating what intake to go with (cobb sf w/box or AEM). I totally subscribe to the power mod:supportive mod idea... |
