Default Hella Supertone Question

I am going to try and install Hella Supertones on my 2012 WRX tomorrow.

I bought the bracket/harness/horns online from subimods because I was too lazy to buy all the little parts to make my own harness.

Anyway, the box for the hellas says the bolt holding the bracket on cannot be removed.. so how is everyone attaching it to the bracket? Seems sloppy to buy 2 bolts and attach a bracket onto a bracket.

Also, Im looking for any tips on installation in the newer WRX's.. Im seeing a LOT of installs on older WRX's but not on the new one.

Is it possible to install without removing the grill even if it might take a while longer? And where are people mounting the relay which apparently is on a short cord with the Subiemods harness.

Finally, on the Subiemods harness - they use a 5 pin relay. Since one relay wire is going to batt (-), im wondering if the tab coming off the relay with screw hole to attach to the car needs an actual ground since it is metal?

Grille comes off with the bumper. Takes five minutes, do it.

Otherwise, don't have hellas, so dunno.

The bumper and grill comes off real easy: 3 clips on the fender liners on either side, underneath, and 4 small 10mm bolts by the grill. Make sure you have something soft so the bumper lands on it and doesn't get damaged.

Take the bumpers off, it's super easy.
did this on 11 sedan

pop all the clips off with flat head or phillips screw, then lift outwards from where the headlights are at. pull it off to loosen it, go to the other side, do the same thing. now you can take the whole bumper off.

I just took the grill off. I could find threads on removing the bumper, but none on putting it back on. I couldn't get all the screws back in, but 4 out of 6 or whatever was good enough. As for your bracket question, I did the "bracket to bracket" method. it seemed dumb, but it worked. As for your other questions, i just put the relay below the horns zip tied to the center brace that runs up and down. So I did not ground the relay with a screw. I ground the relay on a bolt somewhere in the area.

I tried being lazy and doing it without taking the bumper off. Hassle. Taking the bumper off just makes life easier. Mine are on without a bracket?

There's a YouTube video of how to take off the bumper. Putting it back on is the same way. And the parts that snap off, you just push the bumper in towards the car(when it's aligned of course) and it snaps back in. Put all your screw/snapping pins back on and your done.

How the hella do I attach the bracket to the car? I just spend 1.5 hours of my life trying to line up the bracket with the center hole while fitting a wrench with a bolt taped to it behind.. I cannot fit anything between the radiator and that metal bracket. Its to narrow to fit my fingers with a bolt.

I used the bolt that's right under the hood release latch. Take off, put on.

if I take that bolt off, will the nut fall down? Is it somehow attached to the metal bracket on the back? If that nut falls I will be beyond hella frustrated.
