As mentioned,
I decided to go ahead to paint my brembos. I haven't received the Brembo stickers yet, but I went about painting them. Here is what you need: -Jack -Jack Stand -Wrench -News Paper/Scrap paper -Primer -Masking tape -Paint (VHT High Temp Paint) -Clear -Sand Paper Here is the product: Pre-Paint (Notice all the bumps and scratches) ![]() Prepare area or remove caliper ![]() Use Sand paper to sand down Brembo try to sand down all the notches, Some people Suggested you only sand down lightly, but that depends what condition your brembos are in, I should of sanded mine more. Paint with 3 coats of Primer Wait 10 minutes between each coat ![]() ![]() ![]() Start painting as evenly as possible with your chosen color paint. Don't let it streak Apply 2 heavy coats and 1 light. Leave 15 minutes between to make sure everything is dry. Apply sticker ![]() Then Apply 3-4 coats of Clear. Be generous but don't let it streak. ![]()

Preparing myself for a long weekend of work.
Darkfenix, ToFreedom and Me. ![]() Got this in the mail yesterday ![]() ![]() ![]() Looked like a quality product but the fans didn't match up, so I had to ziptie and work around that. Was Huge, thank god swapshop took out the A/C ![]() Then I took out the carpet, I bought a new one from Zealous Interiors. Found Cancer as expected. ![]() ![]() ![]() Grinned it down and primed it. Used a total of 3 cans for primer Then 2 cans of paint (4 coats) and 2 coats of clear to protect from salt. ![]() |

Painted the interior with Plastic Paint after light sanding
![]() ![]() Sound Reduction ![]() ![]() ![]() Put New Carpet and Shifter boot ![]() ![]() Trunk Carpet ![]() ![]() The Quality of the Carpet is very very good. I like the product, looks like it's built to last. Now I need mats. Then the oddest thing happened. We burped the radiator, Made sure no air was in the system and the car still overheated (went a bit over the center line). It seemed to dump all the rad fluid into the overflow tank. This morning we went to Canadian Tire and got a new thermostat. Tested it to make sure it wasn't DOA and put it on. Result? Nothing more of the same. Yes, I emptied out the rad twice. Once to check the Termostat and another time to flush it and make sure nothing was in the lines. Yet the car still pushed all the fluid into the overflow tank. We decided to check if the fans were working. The passenger one wasn't (it turns on for 10 secs and turns off). The driver one works normally. I called swapshop and the motor being under warranty they asked me to ship the car over, so tomorrow morning I'm going to tow it with CAA. I think it might be the head gaskets, but there are no symptoms of gasket failure. No white smoke, no milky stuff on the oil dipstick... |

Update,
So a few weeks ago, I notice my front grill had suffered a lot of rock chips due to highway driving and thin paint. I decided to remove it, paint it flat black and then put a coat of clear on: Before: ![]() After: ![]() ![]() Had to remove and clean the roof surface ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Wifey helped me. ![]() Afterwards, I removed the roof trim and repainted that with a special plastic paint and cleared it. Then I went in for a checkup at swapshop, I was hearing a grinding noise from the 4.44 5 speed that was matched to the Ej207 Version 6. They let me know something was wrong with the tranny and that they wanted to fix it or replace it. Then I talked to the gentleman who works there, Maxime. He pretty much told me that the 4.44 was a loud transmission and that they hadn't heard the grinned until I brought it in this time. To make a long story short, I decided to go with a 6 Speed Version 7 STi transmission swap. (Not my picture) ![]() Needles to say, the difference is immense, the gears are much shorter and the car is much much more responsive and scary fast. In terms of Gas economy, well I did 412 km with 38L, which is pretty good for a 1200kg/300hp awd car. I'm enjoying the steady pull of the six speed and the way it feels for highway driving and everyday driving. There really is little to no lag and the car just feels better. In terms of the noise, well it's immense, the six speed is quieter. I also notice that the clutch was much much easier to handle on a daily basis. But that's because my other transmission had come with some aftermarket crap. All in all, I'm enjoying my car. I just bought another set of tires/wheel for winter to fit (BBS STi with Artic Claw Studded tires). I'll take pics when I put them on. I changed my rear link kits, look how destroyed they were: ![]() |

I forgot to mention, the front and rear window was changed. I just put new pads on the brakes and I just changed the oil (03/30/2013). The motor has close to 90k in total and the body 190k.
