Default Battery or something else?

Does this sound like I only need to replace the battery? Went to start my 2002 WRX after work. Turned key to run position, all dash lights went out. Turned key to run position...nothing. Got a jump and car started. Got home, checked acid level in the battery (OK, plates covered) and put a charger on it. The charger indicated the battery was charged. OK, just drove for 30 min, I'll check it in the morning to see if it holds the charge. Tried this morning and fuel pump runs slow and dash lights flicker. Put the charger on and it indicates the battery is fully charged. I believe chargers only look at voltage potential, so I may have 12+ volts but too few amps to start. As I'm the original owner and I'm only on the second battery I'm not surprised if it needs to be replaced. What concerns me is that there was no signs that the battery was giving up the ghost. When the OEM battery went, it was with the usual sign of slower cranking, etc. This time is out of the blue, more like a catastrophic failure than the usual progressive failure. I don't mind replace the battery and it's probably due. I just want to make sure that there isn't something else I should look into. Thanks!
