Only really cheap film fades, turns purple, or bubbles up. Tint has improved over the last decade and all types of film retain their color really well, even quality dye-based films.

My SWP WRX is coming in on 10/01, and i don't know if i should go 20% since i like how it looks during the day, but it may be too dark at night. If not i'm thinking 28% but i haven't seen what it looks like in person. Any opinions?

[/IMG]20 on the front, 10 on the back, and 5 on the rear window. Perfect for my taste, gets pretty dark at night so I picked up a pair of LED reverse lights. Helps so much. |

Here's mine. Just got it done today. 15% all the way around. I always regret not going darker but I think i'll be happy with it.

Thanks guys. They really are well designed stockers.
You are correct Chester; The bolt pattern on the new base Imprezas is 5x100. |

Hey myrt. I used Plastidip. 3 coats per wheel of black plastidip and 3 coats of plastidip: gold metalizer(which consists of gold flakes and clear coat). Depending on the angle of the sun the wheels will look either gold, black, or bronze. That also depends on how much gold metalizer you use. Its held up so far for three months of me driving off road, and using power washers. If you curb it though. you have to peel it all off and redo it. Total about 6 cans(three of each type). Ordered it through amazon. (you can also do a gunmetal look with the silver metalizer if you wish)

what?? 3 cans each. I plastidiped my rims, but used about 1 can per wheel. lol thats crazy. cant argue with the looks tho. Real nice. might do the same thing.
EDIT: ohh total 6 cans... nvm. Nice job! |

To the 2011-2013 sedan guys:
Did your tint shop not have difficulty reaching the bottom corners of the rear window? (Since the parcel shelf protrudes in those two corners). |

Not where I took mine. He did a great job, but I had to pull it off after getting 2 tint tickets in 3 months. I miss it . Got mine done at skylinetint.com in Springfield. |

Sorry to hear that! I'm assuming you had a really low % hence the ticket?I got mine tinted last week (50% all around - don't want trouble!) but the bottom two corners in the rear window didn't come out perfect. My OCD tells me to get it re-done at a different shop, but my wallet tells me to leave it like it is. Decisions, decisions! I actually looked into Skylinetint, but went with another tint shop because they were 2 mins from my house and their Yelp reviews looked good. Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to check Skylinetint if I ever decide to re-tint. |
