i realize this is all ELH but how much of a difference is it from upgrading to big UEL? i know the difference from stock to EL is 30-40hp. UEL not as good?

i love and hate the ELH. for me, i'm a hugeeee fan of the boxer rumble sound, so I can't do it just yet. i know for power reason,s at some point I may have to. but those of you doing it. keep up the good work. some of these videos are awesome. If i closed my eyes though, and had someone play these videos, i would rarely guess subaru as the cars i'm hearing. they are so distinctive with boxer rumble.

I'll post a video of mine when my Perrin header gets installed. Hopefully it doesn't sound like this one. (Same setup)

finally got my tomei elh on and tuned. Made 305whp and 360 tq best run of the day. And to anyone ordering a tomei elh just go ahead and order another couple rolls of dei titanium bc the stuff they send you is crap.
Here is a quick vid right after i installed it.
and on the dyno

to anyone browsing this thread on the fence and wondering how it sounds cruising on the highway, I will say its so much more live-able. My old set up with factory manifolds and tbe with non resonated mid section would blast my ears down the highway. I like it at first but after six months i was like, "make it stop!" The ELH has made it so quiet at highway speeds i dont hear the car over the radio and road noise. The car is louder i feel at WOT I have had my car on a dyno with ELH and UEL and feel it is louder now when getting on it. But that is a fair trade to have quieter cruising for louder wot.

An ELH got rid of the annoying drone in both my STi and my buddies WRX wagon. I used to hate how my ears felt after getting out of the car with the UEL setup. My car is quiet enough to drive down the street without my buddy noticing I passed by him, but when I open it up, it gets loud... and then louder when the EWG opens up.

It is nice now tha the exhust sounds like it's coming from outside the car and at the back of the car.

Killer B Headers are a really nice upgrade.

First off the power is quite noticeable. For a stage 2.99 car with full bolt ons, you might get ~15whp but the key is that this header moves your powerband not to the right, but upwards everywhere on the curve, in the midrange followed by >5,600rpm.

Furthermore, I like the sound because the noise does not change appreciably with the stock catbacks. I would say the sound changed more with the DP than the headers. If anything it's a little softer on light load, you hear more turbo because it is closer to spooling at any and all load or rpm's, and slightly louder when WOT. There is less vibrato and it is not quite as deep but overall it is hardly a difference as long as the catback is the factory original. You do get more power across the entire rev band, the EGT's are markedly lower, I am saying like 110 degrees F throughout with less spike at WOT, more responsiveness.

In other words, there is no reason not to go for ELH. My only reservation is the turbo lag can be more if they are not coated; I know someone with the Perrin ELH and the full bolt on package that are not coated and his is laggy compared to the usual stage 2.5ish setups out there until he lays on the throttle and heats them up. Coating would get rid of this lag, but make any of the "lesser" 304SS crack.

+1 for Killer B, so glad I took the plunge.
