Default 2012 STI Pro Tune

Last week I installed TBE and took my car to local dyno shop , to get it tuned
(not realy trusting "of the shelf maps"
Just want to know your opinion about the numbers.

Mods I got:
Injet CAI
Invidia Q300 catted TurboBack
COBB with a Stage2 map.

The first pull "baseline" (4th gear) showed a
249whp / 344lb

After few more pulls and some mapping magic, we got
307whp / 347lb

Correction was STD , Smoothing was 5
Dyno : Dynojet
---------------------------------------------------
Car feels totaly new now, nice and smooth, also guys reprogram "throttle input table" for I mode , so now it feels more like S before tune.

Well... my question is : those gains is sufficient enough for the stuff i got?
I been looking around the WEB , and got confused, some people posting 350whp just with ctock+protune.

Numbers seem pretty typical for stage 2. 350 would definitely be too high for a basic stage 2 setup

Nice! I got mine protuned at Cobb in Plano, TX and and was able to get 312 AWHP and 352 lb-ft TQ. Mods are Cobb SF intake + box, Invidia catless DP and Q300 exhaust.

Those numbers seem about right to me. With WRXs and STIs, whatever the crank HP is, you can normally get just above that in WHP.

First I'm guessing you mean 244ft/lbs of torque in your baseline pull. So you gain roughly 58whp and 100wtq from the addition of a downpipe, after market intake, and a tune. That sounds about right, if not a little on the high side. Be less concerned with the actual numbers because every dyno will read different and even the same dyno will read differently day to day depending on a variety of external conditions. You picked up respectable gains from a few very basic modifications that's all that matters. Enjoy it

I'm enjoying it not sure yes , but it seems like a fuel consumption got better too.
----
I know those numbers means nothing without baseline. I just was wondering if those gains is sufficien enough. Bcause the guy in dyno shop (know him for a while) he rather make car safe than "top of power".
---
As well i was a litle surprized how unsuficient COBB maps are, if car pulled 248whp with stage 2 map ,
Lets say dyno is mistaken by 10hp so car makes 260whp with stage 2 map. And this map gives 20hp gain (i hope at least 20hp ) , so stock car will show 240whp , WHAT ??! 305hp on crank and it lost 65hp in powertrain ?!
Well .... Whatever car is fast.

Maybe some of you guys may give me advice with one more thing -
If i will replace a headers (un equal off course) with up pipe plus new fuel pump and injectors and tune it again - make sence ? Powerwise.? Or just a waste of money without bigger turbo ?

Wanna know for next project .....

AWD system are around 20-25% drivetrain loss. this number can change due to mods done.

Cobbs maps are a "one size fits all" deal. It is better to get a fitted cap than a one size fits all cap. Same thing for cars.

IMO,YMMV, etc.

Dyno numbers seem just a bit optimistic. Does the tune seem safe?

...at this level, headers will cost more than they are worth.

What was your injector duty cycle? Unless this was high new fuel pump and injectors will net you 0. They will, however, be needed for later upgrades so should be considered worth while upgrades.

Aftermarket up's don't really add power, just mostly make your spool quicker. (And VERY marginally at that since you are catless)

An aftermarket header will not really touch anything on the fueling side to require injectors or a pump.

So yes, waste of money IMO.
