Hey guys checked my oil today, it seems darker than normal, maybe I'm imagining things. I changed it 3000 miles ago, always use Rotella T6 & Mobil 1 filters every 6k. Car has 41,xxx on it. Any thoughts?
Mike

And I drive it conservatively, stretching her legs every now and again, let it warm up and cool down before and after boosting.

Every 6 thousand seems like a long time to wait. I hope you check your oil regularly.

Send it in for an analysis and you will get the best answer on how your oil is doing.

I check it regularly, I've read quite a bit that 5-6k on full synthetic is fine, where can I send it in?

WIVES TALE ALERT....WIVES TALE ALERT
color of oil is in no way an indicator of its condition...'DARK OIL' MEANS NOTHING!!!!! unless it is well and truely burnt, and then ya got real issues ![]() WIVES TALE ALERT....WIVES TALE ALERT in fact, it may be doing a GREAT job of getting rid of all the garbage left by the PREVIOUS oil used and there are many here who go 8k miles on the t6 with great UOA results |

As said above you should do analysis and confirm your OCI is OK for your driving. Then check your oil level regularly when you have those long intervals.
