Back on topic, I have been in a buddies 300c SRT8. That thing was no slouch, solid car. It will honestly come down to driver, both are evenly matched cars.

I think your car can beat him in his car. Can you do everything right? Have you ever been to a drag strip? I say bet a bill, why not? As long as you have enough in the bank for your bills, I don't see anything wrong with putting a bet on it to make it fun.

I've only raced one 300C at the drag strip and he destroyed me after the 1/8. It was modded and running drag radials. I'll see if I can find the slip tomorrow.

well I've beaten a charger srt8 by doing the perfect launch at about 7k rpms and I did every shift perfectly, I'm hoping I can do the same with the 300 hopefully without destroying my transmission haha

Checked the slip, he went 12.26 @ 113.5mph with a 1.75 60ft.

for what it's worth...I could beat my buddies wrx with my old xjr which was rated at 390 hp 400 tq. So the srt8 is more powerful, and probably about the same weight. Like everyone else is saying, it'll come down to the launch and driver. My xjr was hit or miss on a launch, no lsd meant it would break a tire loose very easily. 13.5 was my best in the 1/4 in it.

I watched NHRA drag racing ONCE. The speed and acceleration of those things... drivers have some sort of talent to handle it,

Actually, they go 0-300mph in less than 4 seconds.

Here is one of Tony Schumacher Runs 3.853 @ 318.69mph. This is 1000ft, they haven't run the 1/4 in years.

This is what I was thinking (but without the haha). $100 is trivial compared to what you'll lose if you blow up your tranny.
