But this turns out to not even be the biggest probelm. As you can see, I went to test-fit this and it does not fit.
There are two problems: 1. It hits the intake manifold runner and it prevents me from bringing in the driver's side of the intercooler another 1/2" 2. If I try to fudge the position by tilting the valve more towards the driver's side, at a sharper angle, it hits the throttle position sensor. Right now, I am looking for photos you may have posted of successful installations, to see how you did it. Which reminds me why I recirculated the full-size Synapse towards the driver's fender. ![]() ![]() ![]() In the photo below, I have to bring the intercooler in kinda half towards the hole on the bracket, there's another hole there. ![]() Last edited by Vlad; 05-19-2011 at 06:10 PM. Interesting you are having fitment issues.
In this thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2058269 The DV was fitted on a USDM cable TB with stock TMIC and a USDM STI with stock TMIC Still not much wiggle room in either case, but I doubt your IC is the problem. |

Well, to be perfectly clear about what I have, I do have a JDM Version 9 Spec C engine, combined with a USDM Sti current generation intercooler.
The current generation intercooler is the biggest Subaru has fitted on any car. This may still be relevant to the growing community of JDM EJ207 American Owners, as well as to the people that have chosen to upgrade their OEM intercooler to the biggest possible OEM intercooler, the 08+ Sti. Also, David from Synapse is helping me already with my missing parts, so things are starting to look better. With this said, I think I may be able to fix this by grinding the ribs on the OEM BPV Elbow at the bottom of the valve, I think it's wedging there and I only need 1/4" or less. |

The new DV valve is a bit louder than the full size Synchronic I had before. I definitely feel it responds faster.
Sometimes, at low to medium loads, it surprises me with a kind of whistle. I like it. I reccomend using the OEM gasket to the intercooler seating area. |

What version did you get? the C port should always be run. It needs to be a dedicated line off the turbo. If you have the latest version of the sb001 the C port should already be built in, no additional lines to run.
Look at the answer linked below to the question: "What is a Port C delete and what is the service procedure?" http://www.synapseengineering.com/su...cid=1&answer=1 |

In theory that could work if it is the line pre-input of the MBC. However, I think this might not be as stable as a dedicated boost source. You could just put a T in the vac line for the fuel pressure regulator that comes off the intake on the passenger side. I would say both should be used as last resorts.

Update: After several e-mails to Synapse, I supposedly have the port c line routed "correctly" as it's t'd off from the vacuum line going from the compressor to the mbc.

On my sb001, I have a internal c-port per their latest design. I linked the image from synapse's website below. ![]() |
