OMGHi2U New Impreza owner

Picked up a graphite Impreza sport 5 door this past week. Ended up getting the CVT tranny for MPG as it going to be the beater.

Anyone have any issues I should be aware of? Seems to be getting great gas mileage...but I'm used to driving the RS4.

Cheers!

gas mileage, squeaky seats, delay shifting to drive, oil consumption in small percentage of owners, tires are not great, over inflated tires, coolant consumption in small percentages of cars, cloth seats fray and i think that covers it. just minor and small percentages of people. welcome to the family!

Most of the issues indicated above seem to be affecting only a few cars.
  1. Check your tire pressure, as they are probably overinflated.
  2. Buy snow tires, you are in Denver (though the OEM worked fine for me last winter in a couple of small storms, I just bought snow tires/rims)
  3. Check your oil, you probably won't see the oil light come on, but if it consumes oil, which it probably won't, top it off. I would also either do your own oil change or make sure your dealer knows not to overfill the crankcase and that they use the correct oil when they fill it.
  4. Read about different theories -- how to break in the engine and seat the rings. I would not baby it completely, nor run it up to the red line.
  5. Winter is coming, your MPG's will dive a bit, especially with winter blends. Don't fret, wait until spring, after break-in, and with the non-winter blend fuels, to really get an idea of the MPG this car will provide.

Believe that winter gas formulas are already in use in the Mid-west and Mountain states.

I got the 2013 Sport Limited 5 doors, I don't get any issue after 1500 miles. If you came from an Audi, you should feel the cheapest in this Eco-box. Like the "adequate" power, loud cabin noise and the thin paint and cheap plastic bumper. (my previous car is a old Camry, but i still feel it) But after all this is one of the best economy car out there.

Thanks for the info guys. All good stuff to be aware of. It seems to have decent quality and I believe its a step above the hondas/scions of the world with the benefit of having AWD.

I kept the Audi, its my favorite car I've ever driven.

I think it is a little bit better perceived IMO than your typical 20k car. My only real complaint is (and this seems to hold true for others) is the sub 27/36 fuel economy when driven normal not like a snail. My real world MPG is more like 22 short city drives and 30 highway at 70+ mph.

It's not Outback quiet but not to bad IMO. I backed into something
(another car) and ended up with some missing paint on my left side bumper but but a small dent in the other car, so the car is built solid and the rear bumper is not flimsy.

you will probably notice that it will be easy to work on yourself, and also will still be around and dependable in a few years, unlike vw/audi
