Default Tuning Options V2 STi (6k ECU)

Hey all. I am in the process of looking into tuning my 1999 Subaru R-STI with a v2 STI swap w/6K ECU. I know COBB does not support this ECU (well atleast not listed on thier site). The car is currently running at 15psi via a MBC- just under fuel cut. My goal is to have it at 19psi. with removed fuel cut and speed limiter.

What have other v2 sti owners done with regards to tuning. Is a tuning shop the only means of tuning or do several companies offer a re-flash or chiped ECU.

Any help would be great. And yes i am researching and asking questions is part of heading in the right direction!

Thanks

Andrew

From my own experience with a version 2 setup, my only option for tuning was some sort of standalone unit like an AEM unit. The ECU itself, stock, cannot take a tune readily. I dont know anything about chipping with these older things.

Thats all i know though, thought id contribute.

I am currently shipping my ECU to Rob for his 440 Robs Tune! This will offer the removal of my boost cut, remapping, rev limiter increase and the addition of launch control.

win win!

i will check out esl too!

19 is risky with the stock maf. It will be just about maxed out at 18. If you do esl or pfc and go map or use a different maf it's ok. You can't run that much boost on 440 injectors anyway, you'd need 550.

18 psi is almost 300 whp and you really don't want much more than that on the stock engine anyway or you risk breaking parts.

you will not hit 19psi on 440s

300 g/s comes at about 18psi depending on ve mods (ewg being the key), this is where the stock maf pegs

You are correct. 18psi is what i will be running. I am currently at 15.5 and see 10.5AFR.
