I got one issue of GR magazine when Subiesport went under and I still had over a year left on my subscription! Ended up having to pay for a new subscription to GR to get more issues.
Side note: I actually hope this works out cause I thougt the DVD issue was awesome and it made me more sad it was the last issue. |

My girlfriend had bought me a two year subscription a little while before they went under. Needless to say I never received so much as a single issue or and my girlfriend never received any refund. I also found it incredibly frustrating that in the last months leading up to their previous shutdown, they wouldn't answer questions on when they thought that the issues their customers had been waiting literally months for, would finally arrive.
Needless to say I won't be supporting this magazine in any capacity. |

We had several requests to host the fund-raiser on Kickstarter. Today, we launched that portion of the campaign. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-the-tv-series

As a future suggestion, I'd also like to see: - tracking down owner's of classic subie's like the 22B and SVX. NOT the ricey herra frush type aesthetic type. Want the functional focused type. - other brand/model cars being compared to Subie's - DirtFish mechanics corner (ie tips from Dirtfish on reliability, part replacement, etc) - slide/maneuver of the week (vid clip of subie rally/rallyx action profession/dirtfish/viewer submitted whatever) - tires on subie's tests |

We always wanted to do a tire test in the magazine, but the logistics were always looking to be a nightmare (if not done right, it's not worth doing.) It's still something I want to do, though - just have to find a way to do it that is practical. As of a couple years ago, there were only two real 22B's in the US. One owned by Subaru, the other by Heuberger motors in Colorado (and it's not street licensed). That is, unless we make a trip to Japan, but we'd need Subarus help to make that happen - not going to spend all our budget on one trip. @BlueLGT - I think that's her handle here, iirc. @Supraru - Give it a rest, please. |

Yeah if I knew that my company was wrong I'd brush it off as well instead of making excuses. I don't think you realized how pissed people are and were. Any time someone basically steals money from someone they are mad. Tons of people feel that way obviously in this thread. Apologize, and tell everyone it's going to be better and it's not going to happen again. Be honest, that's what I'd do in your spot. Just don't try to pass the blame because it makes you look bad and doesn't make anyone feel better about being robbed of their hard earned money.

I wasn't around to know what exactly happened in the days of the magazine, but based on what I read in this thread and your responses regarding the issue, I think it's quite clear. I very reluctantly backed the kickstarter project (because I never donate to anything) and reading this thread definitely isn't encouraging. Not to disappoint anyone or anything, but at the current rate, they would be lucky to raise just 1/4 of their proposed budget. As of this posting, the following is true: 7 days (23 to go) $1,885 pledged $1885 / 7 days = ~$269.29 per day $269.29 * 23 days = ~$6,193.67 total Obviously just a quick estimate and doesn't really represent anything except maybe some perspective. I think they would need quite a few "big" backers to make their goal at all possible. That said, that final number is down from just a couple of days ago where I calculated ~$11k. |

If you had issues receiving the replacement goods, that was between you and the company that took on the responsibility of handling the replacement goods at the time of the transition, Grassroots Motorsports.
I lost over $150,000 (that I didn't have) in the economic collapse. Lots of people left owing me and the magazine money that I will never see (my story is not unique, many publishers lost their shirts that year and very few of those customers had any replacement products arranged.) Sometimes things happen that we simply can foresee or control. **** happens and hindsight is 20/20. I would love to do it all over again, really I would. For you, for my family for everyone. But this is life, we pick ourselves up and get on with it. I'm not telling you to "get over it" to be complacent, but because you had an option for recourse with the company that acquired the responsibility of the subscriptions. I can't control your conversation with them. I don't know what or with whom you spoke and what was or was not fulfilled. I keep coming back to NASIOC because I do care about you and about the community. If I didn't, I wouldn't attempt to continue this relationship. Responsibility for subscriptions is under GRM, you have to take that up with them. If you choose to support my latest project, that would be great (but I'm already guessing which way you're going to go on that, which is completely understandable.) Nobody else was willing to stick their neck out and make a Subaru-dedicated magazine, I did. As you and many others cared so much for the magazine, obviously, I did a pretty good job. All I want is to is to have the opportunity to do a good job once again. |

Many contributions to Kickstarter campaigns are done in the final days. (It's really weird the psychology behind it.) Yes, some are funded seemingly overnight, but those are the exceptions. If you're sure we're not going to hit our goal, then there's no risk in pledging your financial support, right?
