Is it okay if I go ahead and reserve a bay for 4 or 6 hours? Seems this shop day is more show stuffs and alignments then pulling wrenches. Of course, I'll be there right when you open the gates.

Reason I'm asking for more time is so I can switch to EWG, air pump delete, pull my manifold, etc. So plan would be...

Pulley swap, oil pickup swap, parallel fuel conversion, turbo inlet swap, EWG, air pump delete, injectors, and might as well swap turbos while its all apart.

Then ideally get some of Keith's loving

Most of those mods go hand in hand. Figure both manifolds off in an hour then knock out a bunch of work with easy access for the next two hours. IF a major snag pops up I should have time to correct and I'm already planning to trailer to/from.

I don't think 6 hours is enough to do all of that.

I just want to reserve the time. Already started working on the car and will be just about everyday. The "must tune" stuff is killing me

wish we could accommodate it, but with a limited number of bays, and a limited amount of techs/time we can't really schedule things that are going to go over the 2 hour mark by a great deal, and this will.

Quick question. This is my first shop day and I don't quite understand the logistics.

Will there be a schedule for when the bays are assigned? Is it based upon when we signed up? Or is it just everyone shows up and it is first come first served?

I want to avoid getting there at 730a to find out that I don't have a bay until noon!

Many thanks for any help on the overall planning of the day.

previously we'd ask you to stay close to the service department, and listen for the PA, but that was fairly impractical and we now get your cell number and give you a call when your turn is coming up. So bring your cell phone with you

The technician will perform the alignment for you, but you're welcome to have him show you how he actually does it. If you want, you can probably do it with the technician helping you.

Make sure to tip the technician working with you. They aren't getting paid by Gillman for that day!

yes, the techs will have to help you though, as the shop tools will only be used under direct supervision to make sure you don't get injured

They can do glass smooth or rough cut, depending on what's needed. Don't forget to wear your eye protection.

3. rotors, pads, fluid, brake lines, and spark plugs if time.

Also, the StopTech Brake pads I got did not come with Brake Grease. Will the shop have brake grease I can use, or will I need to bring some?

Technically you don't need brake grease at all, but it helps if your slider pins have rust on them or are caked in dust / crap / dirt and you're too lazy to clean it.

I have some pure silicone lubricant you can use if you want.
