Talking A+

A+ rating for these guys.

I bought an 07 Legacy Spec B about 1 year ago. It started giving me problems on the way back from picking the damn thing up

I immediately brought it over to Mach V and had them take a look at it. They found the wrong spark plugs in it, a few minor boost leaks, and we took care of all those problems. It helped a bit but never really fixed the problem.

The car was having really strange problems off idle. It would hiccup and fall on it's face, start vibrating, stalling, throwing missfire codes. I had Mach V take a look initially and they weren't able to find any one particular problem based on the readings they took and the sensors they checked. They spent two days checking the car and couldn't figure it out. They really took care of me on the diagnostic fee and they did a complimentary oil change for me as it was due.

Per their reccomendation I took the car to the dealership to have them reflash the car and make sure it wasn't a problem with the ECU. The dealership called me up and said they fixed the problem, which of course they didn't, then tried to charge me an arm and a leg for it. If you can't fix my problem I understand, but don't lie to me and tell me it's fixed when it's clearly totally messed up. I gave them another chance at the dealer and they couldn't fix it.

Finally the car threw a P0021? code, and when I called Matt to tell him, he and Dan told me to bring the car in.

The next morning they called me back and said the car was fixed and gave me a very reasonable price for the repair. I didn't really believe it was fixed cause I had heard this many times. I went and picked up the car. It's fixed, drives better than it ever has.

They hooked up an oscilloscope to read the cam sensors and found that one sensor was all over the place and the other was fine. They then tried switching the Oil Control Valves to see if that was the problem and sure enough it was. They had the part immediately shipped from the dealership and now the problem is solved.

They had me test drive the car for an extended period of time before settling my full bill to make sure they got it right. I honestly didn't even need this gesture because I know these guys stand behind their work but it was really nice to see them make that effort.

Having dealt with all types of shops in the past, I was so extremely impressed with my experience. The guys were honest, they really spent time to figure out a strange problem, and were just as happy as I was to get to the bottom of it. It's a real pleasure to do business with a shop that takes pride in what they do. And to top it all off the prices were totally fair, particularly given the amount of hours I know they all had into it.

Thanks to all the guys at the shop. Particularly Deren, Matt, Dan, Evan, and Mike.

Just wanted to add my experience, these guys rock! Living on the West Coast I was hesitant to order parts from the East Coast given the long shipping distance. My parts arrived earlier than things I ordered from Amazon and their distribution center is just down the highway. They must have turned around my order in an hour.

Plus they threw in a lollipop, my only regret is I didn't add stickers to my order. Don't let it happen to you, you want an unamused sticker, place an order for something you need and throw a few of those bad boys in your cart.
I am looking for new parts to order right now.

Another great experience with Mach V here. I took my wagon in for an alignment this week. They noticed a popping from my rear swaybar and threw some washers on it that were missing at no charge. They were also very meticulous in getting the alignment right. They did multiple test drives trying to chase down a minor memory steer issue. I was low on time, so I had to take it as is, but I bet they would've licked it given the opportunity.

The entire experience was infinitely better than going to some lifetime alignment shop and having the guy behind the counter look at you like you have three heads when you explain you have camber plates. These guys are real enthusiasts who know a thing or two about customer service and actually give a sh##.

Mach V (fastwrx.com),

First off thank you! In the last 4-5 months I have made about 6-7 separate orders, and I have to say I am extremely impressed! Every order I have made, you have had packaged, shipped, and on its my doorstep in less than 48 hours. Not a single product has let me down in anyway, and I APPRECIATE your outstanding business. I'm going to try and make the drive from Virginia Beach for the open house to meet you guys, but if I can't make it will you be at the Ocean City meet?

Loyal Customer (with much more continued business to come),

I agree with the post above. Not only does Dan keep a whole messload of items in stock at his business, but everybody who works at Mach V is very knowledgable and will do just about anything to make you a happy customer. Except dance in tights on a cocktail table while doing the Macarena!

Just had steering rack bracing, steel brake lines, steering wheel bushings, and steel brake lines installed here, and couldn't be happier. Didn't line up the steering rack correctly, and they promptly scheduled an appointment to have it corrected at no charge. In addition, they rounded down the hours charged in light of how much work I have done there/will have done there. If you're looking for a great Subaru shop in VA, you can't go wrong with Mach V. Dan/Matt are awesome!

Default Another awesome Protune from Dan at Mach V Motorsports

I had a Protune from Dan on my wrx a few years back and was really happy with it- great drivability and plenty of power. Recently I acquired a 2011 STI and decided at first to run an OTS Cobb 93 stage 1 map. After running some logs i had a knock event at high load even on the 93 fuel, so i immediately dropped down to the 91 map. While the 91 OTS map was an obvious increase in power and smoothness over the stock map, I could immediately tell there was still a huge difference between how this map was driving on my STI and how Dans awesome tune had behaved on my WRX. With the OTS map I was getting some throttle hesitation around 2800 to 3000 rpms, the data logs were showing quite a bit of low-load knocking (which isn't all that bad but there was enough of a consistency with it that It had me concerned) and general driveability just felt like it could have been smoother to me. I then decided to give my STI a stage 1 tune by Dan and I couldn't be happier. The car feels incredible now- pulls harder and smoother, the throttle hesitation I was having is gone, and the logs are knock-free in all load ranges. Just driving the car around it was easy to tell that the car was just happier all the way around with the new tune. Final Dyno numbers were 276hp/317tq at the wheels, which I feel is solid for stage 1. Not only does Dan provide a great tune, but he also goes over the tune with you from end to end explaining what he found, what he did and why he did it- something I really appreciated as it gives me more insight and knowledge on the subject and on my STI. A personal thanks to Dan for such excellent tuning work, and I highly recommend Mach V Motorsports to anyone in the northern VA/DC area needing a powerful, safe and reliable Protune.

Made the trip to visit MachV for a protune on my 05 sti. Extremely pleased with how everything went. Dan managed to squeeze surprising (to me anyway) power out of a mostly stock car and is even doing some fine tuning remotely.

Big thumbs up for everyone there.

Just got my 30k mile maintenance done by Mach V yesterday. I'm a busy guy and they helped me out by allowing me to drop the car off after hours and pick it up after hours. I know its petty, but its the little things that differentiate one from another. When I made the appointment I was ready to pay ahead of time and they said don't worry about it and wouldn't accept payment until the job was finished to their standards. Im used to paying up front, waiting, getting screwed over, etc. and Mach V went against the grain. Great to deal with and would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Big thanks to Matt and the guys at Mach V. Was in there yesterday to get my new tires mounted, balanced, and an alignment done. Matt worked with me on changing the time of my appointment multiple times to work around my work schedule, and they had me in at 245 when i got off work and out the door before closing! Recommend this shop to anyone in the NOVA area, they know their stuff and everyone there is great. Thanks again Mach V, see you guys soon! I also order off fastwrx.com and they have quick shipping and good prices. A+!

I had a lot of great experience with Mach V since I got my 2012 STi, first they installed my Perrin Up pipe, I ordered my Turbo XS turbo back and Cobb accessport from them and no issues. They also installed my Perrin Turbo inlet and last Friday they protuned my car I'm pushing 305whp and 337trq from 296whp and 325trq with the premap stage 2 in the accessport. Dan did explain that I had a knock and he fixed the issue with the tune. Thanks! Real great people to work with. Highly recommend them.
