I am not really sure, here is the email I received:

Marco,
Thank you for the email and with the huge interest we are having with this axleback, we are planning to offer these in our next group buy but if you'd like us to created one for you on your car here's what your looking at for pricing:

- Resonated axleback (just like we created), installed - approx $400.00
- there isn't a muffler on these axlebacks, but there is a resonator to keep unwanted noise to a minimum in the cabin

- We can build the other axleback we plan to offer for the pre 2012 models that exits thru the rear bumper for roughly the same price, then we'd charge our standard shop rate to cut the bumper and make it fit. We charge $80/hr and I don't see that job taking very long to get the bumper cut out and the exhaust fitting perfect.

Please let me know if you have any further questions and what is your time frame for install? Thanks and we look forward to hearing back.

Ryan Moore

I do know of the Magnuson Moss Act but surely if someone had installed UEL headers their service manager is bound to say something.

It all depends on the failure. When I brought my STI in for warranty work I took the intake off just to be sure. My mindset is why give them an excuse to question anything.

They'll definitely make their displeasure be known. Well I guess with UEL headers installed they will void warranty on the engine.

Again, the onus is on them to provide an explanation of why the part you put on was the catalyst for the damage. Case in point, if you have an aftermarket downpipe on your STI and you grenade your engine, Subaru will tell you that the additional flow of exhaust through your downpipe caused an overboost condition that then blew the motor. They have said that to some people. You can potentially link that part with the failure.

I'm not saying that the dealer won't fight you, I am just saying that they would have to prove it if you had to go to court.

i should have bought these, would match my HID head lights and probably be a little better for coverage. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-pcs-H16-52...2ce032&vxp=mtr

but, if i had oem lights, these would be best. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TWO-Orange-A...547874&vxp=mtr

If those fit your headlights they would not be suitable for use as headlights. LED's like those are not that bright and for use in fog lights, not for improvement in light, but because they don't burn out that quickly.

Trust me, those are nothing comparable to a halogen headlight bulb.

Get a HID kit (35W) from DDM Tuning. I bought the kit 3 weeks ago and I am loving it.

(NO FLICKERING!!!)

As for fog lights I would just stick with the original stock bulbs and put on some Lamin-X filming. Replacing your halogen for LED's on your fog lights won't do you any justice. The output "color" is nice but the output "light" is horrible.

The only bulbs I would swap out with LED's are the following

- ALL interior bulbs

- L's Plate Bulbs or
PIAA 19172 168 Xtreme White Wedge Bulb - 2 Piece : Amazon.com : AutomotivePIAA 19172 168 Xtreme White Wedge Bulb - 2 Piece : Amazon.com : Automotive

Day Time running lights - Highly recommend

Optional - Turn signals (might need more work than just plug and play)

Is this what you're referring to?

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-D1SR-35W

If so, did you get the D1S or the D1R bulbs? I assume they're the same, except that "S" means it has a straight connector, and "R" means it has a right-angle connector?

Since the American version of the Impreza did not come with Projector lights or HID's D1S or D1R are not necessary

Here is the kit I purchased. Feel free to get any color temp you desire.

DDM HID Kit

Wattage: 35 Watt
Bulb Color: 5000K
Bulb Type: H11

After tax and shipping $51.66

That's cool, and surprisingly affordable. Is there another thread here that discusses installation tips?

As for color selection, I would simply want white light, not yellow and not blue. So I'm thinking 5000k. Agreed?

Agreed 5000 should be white.

Be warned, the plug n play hid kits may cause glare for oncoming traffic.

retrofit hids is the best way, but be prepared to smash your piggy bank open.

Installation is super easy. All the plugs are different. There is no way you can mix and match. A plug only fits to the similar shape plug. It all now matters on where you want to zip tie the ballast to have it hidden or just flaying around.

I can take a picture of my set up when I get a chance.

As for color temp. I took a quick picture before I came back to work on my lunch break.

one is LED and one is HID.

I got 5000k hoping for pure white but it has a hint of blue. Its not what I really was hoping for but I'm not going to cry over it. I would probably recommend +4000K

HID

Do those of you with this DDM kit find yourselves getting flashed frequently by oncoming traffic? Or is the cutoff low enough that oncoming drivers don't seem to be bothered?

None for me just get 35w. If it's projector then go 55w

No, I'm still running the OEM reflector setup, so I'll stay with 35w.

No, I don't like to have objects flying around, so I'll use zip ties. I'd like to see your installation to give me an idea of where to tie the ballasts. And I'd like to see pics to help decide if 5000k is too blue.

EDIT: I see you posted pics above. My office firewall blocks Flickr, so I'll check it out when I get home.

The tuner I'm using just sent me a message saying that a couple companies are working on full exhaust systems for our cars that should be out in 30-45 days. He didn't tell me what compainies are developing them though.
