It's getting old, but I keep being told it's worth the wait. Hope to find out one of these days.

It sucks to wait, but Subaru is doing the right thing here. We're all in this together.

Ordered on 9/10 and just got word from my sales guy today that my DGM WRX 5dr came in last night. It's getting cleaned up today and I'll swing by to pick it up tomorrow afternoon!

Woooooot! So excited... nervous.... excited again!

Default 2013 DGM.. soon?

I guess this is as good as any for my first post. I joined, and have been reading up, learning and enjoying this forum. (I will try and keep my order story short...)

On June 20th, I ordered a 2012 STi Base Sedan, DGM, no options. 9 weeks later, I was contacted, and advised that my order would not be filled as a 2012, but as a 2013. They agreed to keep the price same as 2012 negotiated price. After a long wait, and no VON, or VIN from Subaru of New England, and no confirmation being given to my dealer, other than vehicle is ordered, I contacted SOA on 09/19/12.... after many phone calls, both my dealer, and I received phone calls yesterday, 10/11/12. SOA finally fought with SNE, to get information, and some concessions due to their lack of follow up, communication with myself and dealership, and failure to follow their ordering policy.

My 2013 STi is on a ship from Japan, on allocation #113. As of 10/08/12, the delivery date is "within two weeks." SOA, is giving me incentives for my frustration and lengthy order. SNE, has made zero effort to reply back to even SOA.

So long story short, car is on the way, SOA was a great help, my dealer was great, and according to SOA, and SNE, my STi will be the first 2013 Sti to come to New England. (please feel free to correct me, I read through most posts, and may have missed something)

Fingers crossed!!

(Oh, and this is my second subaru, I sold a 2002 PSM WRX to purchase new STi, and I am from Connecticut)

Me too, 10/8 ETA from Grand Subaru in Benseville (Where Steck is picking up HIS STi today... And we ordered at the same time )

Sucks to hear about the "quality issue." Good to hear that Subaru is doing the right thing though if there's the potentially for there being something wrong. I bet instead of just releasing them all, they are giving each car an inspection for some potential problem before allowing it to leave port. Sucks to wait, but probably for the best: sure beats getting a car on time and then having to go through a warranty claim in the first week or something.

if this is true hopefully the most recently delivered 13s weren't affected/managed to squeak by with problems!

Can someone pm me the price lists for the WRX? I may be negotiating next week when my car arrives, and I forgot to save it back when it was originally posted!

Just joined today so I can share in the torture. Been a lurker since June.

I ordered ISM 5 door WRX on 10/2/12 with the only option being the extended arm rest from Ramsey Subaru in North Jersey. This will be my first Subaru and first new car, been wanting one of these since Grand Turismo for PS1. For those curious here was my price breakdown:

Sticker(or whatever it's called) - $24,880
Arm Rest Extension - $134
All Weather Mats - $0
Tax - $1750.98
Dealer Fee - $299
Tags - TBD(said could be between $50 - $200)
Out the door - $27,063.98 + tags

He said not to expect any word for 4-5 weeks and I should have it by 8 weeks at the latest but he has been averaging 6 weeks for orders.

Have people in NJ been getting there cars on time?

I am still waiting for mine and haven't seen anyone in New England get their STi yet either. And there aren't any sitting on the lots. So it seems like that could be true, but my guess is that there will be more than just 1 on that shipment and that it will be with the first group of STi's to hit New England. I have a VIN and my dealer said they are just waiting for it to hit the port. On 9/18 they told me 7-10 days...and I'm still waiting.

However, there were a couple cargo vessels that just docked at the port in RI that SNE uses. One last night and 1 possibly 2 this morning. However I don't have any information if any of those vessels had Subies on them. Probably going to drive myself crazy lol.

Can someone explain this allocation thing better. How can some parts of the country have vehicles, and been receiving vehicles for some time now, and others like the people in SoNE not have gotten any Sti's or cars so far. Why dictate where cars go if these are already ordered car. Shouldn't it be first come, first serve. Sorry if this has been discussed before.

speaking of squeak...

I picked up my 5DR WRX a week ago and I am proud to say I have 600 miles on it already. I'm finally a lot more smooth at shifting and I think about it less. BUT, around 20-40mph there is this maddening squeak that comes from the front end anytime I hit the smallest bump. I'm waiting and hoping it goes away on it's own. But, I'm someone who goes insane over squeaks and rattles. I like to leave the radio off so I can listen to the engine, but now it's just annoying!

I would say you might have wanted to do some more research on the WRX if squeaks and rattles bother you before you bought it...especially a hatch. It's only going to get worse if you live in a place that gets cold in the winter, sorry. Type "rattle" in the search box and you will see what I mean.

I forgot to add this.

I'm coming out of a Mazda. I can think of no less than 5 distinct groans/rattles/squeaks/pops on that car depending on the time of the year. Let's see...

- Suspension groan below freezing (hard sway bar bushings, needs greased annually)
- Popping over bumps that sounds like a suspension clunk (loose cowling below windshield, requires removal of wipers to retorque bolts)
- Sunroof rattles heavily while open (never could isolate this).
- Rear side door groans when it's cold and wet outside (never could isolate this).
- Buzzy rattle by the front side mirror (to intermittent to isolate).

All I can say is you'll learn to live with it. It's 2012, cheap plastics mean just about all cars rattle. The WRX is a machine. If you wanted whisper quiet, could've bought a Lexus... and even they probably rattle.
