I had been wanting to get a second gopro for the past month or two and when I saw the new ones come out with wifi built-in I went for it. I have the wifi remote and bacpak for the hero2 so I can control them both remotely.

Overall the audio on the Hero2 was much louder, I even had to turn down the audio just a hair to keep the switches from being so jarring. I'm not sure the Hero3 has any less wind noise, its just quieter overall.

Yeah maybe the quieter overall makes it sound like it has less wind noise.

How much was the Hero 3?

I'm looking into a GoPro. I've never owned one and I'm a cheap ass. It doesn't have to be fancy

The silver has the same internals as the Hero2, so unless size and built-in wifi is important to you, I would save a few bucks and buy a Hero2. They have gone down in price I believe.

Or better yet, pick one up used since people will be selling them to get a Hero3.

Yeah... it's not important. Price is more important since I'm a cheap ass

What does the built-in wifi allow me to do?

If you have the wifi remote you can control it remotely, and if you have multiple gopros then you could control them all simultaneously. And if you have a smartphone then you can connect it and make it a view finder so you can see before you start filming to check the angle and whatnot.

Thanks.. So it's a remote that allows you to control the GoPro (and ability to use your smartphone).. Gotcha

Only in that video. But I had put it on some dented metal so it wasn't a good seal. Lots of people tie the GoPro to something so if the suction cup fails the send piece will still hold.

Its in the manual. Initially, make sure all devices are up to date with the firmware through cineform update. Then turn Gopro and Wifibacpac on while attached. Wifibacpac should have the radio signal icon, then press the button on the bacpac and it should take you to the menu on your gopro screen. Select remote, select new it will search. Turn Remote on, and wait. Should link up after with a check box icon.

To pair up with phone, disconnect remote by pressing bacpac button again, and this time selecting smartphone/tablet. Wifi will be transmitted, and you search for the wifi network on your wifi network viewer. Connect using password you have assigned with the bacpac. Then boot up the app on your smartphone and wait for connect. Hope that helps?

Pretty sure Shelby super cars put one on their new car (tuatara?) when they did a 0-200 mph test and it stayed on the whole time. I think if you put the auction cup on correctly, you should be good to go.
I'm just scared that when I stop at a stop light someone is gonna run up to my car and take it off the car and run away haha.

That would be messed up, atleast the beat down would be caught on camera.
