Default Insurance in Germany?

Hello, I recently PCS'ed to Ramstein. I got a quote from USAA for my 2012 STI and they quoted me around 4k a year for coverage. Who do you go through? What kind of rates are you guys paying? I think 4k is ridiculous.

Usaa is a rip off over here they wanted almost 500 a month for me, i go local here and only pay 180 a month. Mind you I'm a 23 year old with a 07 sti so that's a pretty good price. Here's the contact info for who I use, she really helped me out.

You bought the STI in the states and shipped out here, or had that from before?

Thanks for your help guys =) i called every insurance company in the find-it guide..the cheapest i found was 164.00 a month..from Geico. The cheapest local insurance i found was 222.00 a month and that was if i pay a year at once. Oh by the way, the sickning part, the 164.00 a month is the exact same coverage USAA was quoting me for 350.00 a month. I am dropping usaa I think they are just going off their reputation and most people don't call around.

*edit* stateside i was paying around 145 a month with USAA.

I pay $389/mo for my Sti (with about 5k in parts added to policy) and my 07 silverado for me and my wife 28/24 through usaa. I recently found a company that said about $163/mo for just my Sti. With the truck it came to $289. I'm just sticking with usaa since I leave in 7 months.

After it was all said and done i pay 105euro a month for my 2012 STI. Geico is the way to go. Same coverage as USAA was offering for around 350 a month.

Get a fozzy, and pay only $1400 a year full coverage thru USAA!! The fozzy is cheaper than my wifes civic hybrid!! LOL But I know it not worth nearly as much as some of your cars!!! Got the unicorn version, white, 5sp (soon to be 6), turbo!!
