Here is a list of all the modifications I have on the STI so far. Car was tuned by Jorge at IAG (Westminster, MD).
Accessport Invidia catless downpipe Invidia Q300 exhaust AEM Cold Air Intake Deatschwerks Top Feed 1000cc Fuel Injectors Deatschwerks 65C fuel pump Grimmspeed Electronic Boost Control Solenoid 3-port Grimmspeed Air/Oil Separator PERRIN Black Turbo Inlet Hose 3" PERRIN parallel fuel rails BLOUCH 20G-XT-R Full Ball Bearing Turbocharger 8cm outlet 3 inch inlet IAG Performance Subaru External Wastegate Uppipe Kit with TiAL 44mm V-Band Wastegate & GTSpec GEN II style Header IAG air pump delete AMR TMIC Older STI fuel pressure regulator swap It seems the power band isn't very smooth and I get a P0172 whenever I go on a long drive. Anything over 80 miles I usually get the P0172 CEL. Sometimes it doesn't happen. It happens more consistently if I drive around in Intelligent Drive. I threw a P0244 recently while driving in Sport Sharp mode. That has only happened one time. When I called IAG they said it might be one of my injectors stuck in the open position. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do? New tune? Thanks! Anthony

172 is normally caused by a mis scaled intake or injectors. Less often a small boost leak.
Since you have an AP post up your AF Learning values (there are 4) this will help pinpoint the issue. Wicked M@ |

interesting. so the idle trim is fine, but the cruising trim is way off and taking out a ton of fuel. it is not a stuck injector thats for sure.
if its pulling out 23 percent in the d range, thats also affecting all your open loop driving so be very careful, i wouldn't drive it hard at all. Im leaning towards a problem with the calibration. |

I would suggest having your tuner look at it and diagnose the problem, without seeing the map I cant give you solid technical advise.
I normally blame the calibration last, but its the most common cause of 172 codes. The only other possibility is a small boost leak that DOESNT manifest as a vacuum leak. Does it hit and hold boost target? Is the idle vacuum normal? |

It hits boost target (or above) and holds fine. As far as I know. I can do a data log.
The idle seems fine. No surges. |

Just wanted to jump in here -- Obviously as mentioned in our previous conversations, we would be happy to check this out for you. That being said, we've seen 4 out of the 5 sets of the DW top feed 1000's have this same issue... So I'd put my money on that being the case. We'd be happy to check in to it any time... Just let me know!

This. I have top feed DW 1000's and they were mis-scaled. And I had surging once and a while, after some re-scaling car runs like a champ.

That's well and fine, and I trust your opinion. But, it's not your money.. I don't want to shell out $1000 to replace brand new injectors with other brand new injectors... |

Car felt sluggish and lazy. I was also running e85, met up with my tuner. Re-scaled the intake and injectors and all was good. I think my car was tuned with an intake leak or boost leak. When I found the leak and fixed it, thats when this started happening. |

Okay. Did it resist sometimes when you accelerated under ~30-50% load?

This is just because of your stock fuel dampeners and larger injector combination. 08+ they changed the supply and return fuel system. IA sells a kit that reverts back to the 04-07 fuel supply and return system. With tuning, this "hesitation" goes away. I've heard that the FIC 1000's or ID 1000's tune out better then the DW injectors though. My hesitation is gone but I also run e85 on the stock fuel dampeners. The code is not related to this hesitation.

I already have the 04-07 fuel setup. This sucks.

Well, definitely sounds like a calibration issue. Your tuner doesn't know how to tune the 08+ or he's over looking something. 99% of the cars with the 04-07 fuel setup, this studder is corrected with little tuning. This, with your CEL makes me believe it is most definitely a calibration issue.
