Everything I wrote about considering a Suzuki Kizashi as an alternative?
http://rumors.automobilemag.com/end-...cy-183167.html On the plus side, probably fire sale prices. On the negative side, goodbye dealer support.

I just double checked and my order date was September 20th. My delivery window of December makes sense if you had "Late November" when you ordered in early September.

No gripes to speak of - really like the Impreza so far. Handles very nice and has decent acceleration for a 148hp engine. CVT is nice and smooth and the paddle shifters are nice for hills and on-ramps. Automatic climate control works great – never too cool or too warm – just set it an forget it. The Nav system has a huge manual of its own and takes a little time to master. So far I’ve replaced the floor matts with a set of WeatherTechs. They are real nice and a snap to clean. Here’s some pics:

Wow, that looks really nice. Thanks for the info. I'm even more eager to get mine now. Minus a few cosmetic features, your right, yours is almost identical to what I ordered. I'm planning on getting the weathertecs as well. Let me know how you like the stock tires in the rain. I've been concerned about them and am thinking about swapping out new rubber when it comes in.
How do you like the tires so far? Quote:

No issues with the tires. So far they handle the rain just fine, and the car tracks well through the I-5 ruts

Just curious. Anyone else in the Northwest getting VIN numbers? If this forum is any indication of how many ordered 2013's are arrving, it is pretty low. As I said earlier, I ordered from Spokane, Washington dealership, on 8/14/2012, Impreza Premium, Manual, Hachback, Dark MG, no options, and everyone is still saying "sometime' in November, but I have not received a VIN number or anything specific as to a delivery date.

Lol, 4-6 weeks?! if that is accurate you would be very lucky! I was told 6-10 weeks and I ordered 8/9, lol (I'm in Spokane, WA). Last week my dealer said they should be hearing something about my order Nov 5th-10th. So I will be calling again next Monday if I don't hear from them this week. From my understanding of whats going on I would expect more of a 3-4 month wait.

Here is some more info for those wanting more real world delivery times on '13 Imprezas.
I was told 8-10 weeks when I placed my factory order for a 2013 SWP Limited on 8/27 with nav/sunroof. (Quoted factory invoice price.) Received VON and estimated "Dec" delivery on 9/10. Received VIN and updated delivery of 11/28 on 11/5. So, 8-10 weeks ended up being 13+ weeks ... if 11/28 delivery happens. Will post pics of my new subie alongside my current '02 WRX bugeye when it arrives. Can't wait! |

Seattle area too, and I'm willing to wait, thought maybe they would all be sold.
Does $22339 out the door for a manual 2013 Impreza Sport Premium with no extras sound right? -- I'm getting numbers from a 2012 dealer price sheet I found on the forum and AutoCheatSheet.com. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...&postcount=125 $ 19800 Invoice - 415 Dealer incentive - 415 Holdback - 200 Market Asst. = 18770 Dealer cost $ 18770 Dealer cost + 750 4% Profit =19520 Target price $ 19520 + 2819 Destination, Tax, Title $ 22339 total price |

I picked up my courtesy car from Grand Subaru on Saturday. They gave me an '09 Forester until my Impreza gets here. I can't wait! At least I have a car now! No more riding the bicycle to work!

Hey arsa13, when did you order yours? What did you tell the dealer so they gave you a courtesy car? Thanks in advance.

Submitted order to the dealer on 7/17/12, officially submitted to SoA on 8/8/12. On July 17, when I went to Grand Subaru I was honest with Joe (the sales manager) and told him I was going to sell my current car (at the time) privately. I asked him if he could set up a courtesy car for a couple weeks before my order came in, in the event I sell my car before the Subaru comes in, and he agreed. I don't know... Maybe I got lucky? Is my dealer unusually nice? I did sell my car 2 weeks (to the day) after I placed my order with SoA, and I let the dealer know I was car-less in September when I began calling for weekly updates. I made sure to talk to a couple different people in case one guy was out, I didn't have to rely on him. Also, more people knew me this way, and knew I was without a car (almost) the whole time. This was of course back in JULY of this year, when almost any dealer would have told you 6-8 or 6-10 weeks for an order, so I can't imagine that my dealer was expecting a 16 week time frame for my order. If you're without a vehicle I'd ask your dealer for a courtesy car for a week or two, and just be honest. It's a reasonable request, so I don't see why they'd argue or deny it. |

Well after waiting and not hearing anything back from my dealer rep I called and he told me my order is on "hold" along with 8 other orders. He said he asked himself and cannot get a reason as to why Subaru has these cars and many others on hold. I called SoA last Friday and they told me the exact same thing with no answer as to why the status of my car and many others is on "hold". I have yet to receive a VIN# so I have no idea if my car has even been built. I expressed my concerns with my dealer rep and told him I am rather displeased with the wait (ordered 8/9/12) and communication. He said sorry and asked me to wait until Dec 1st and if I heard nothing by then he suggested to look into another option. The only other option I have semi-considered is the Mazda CX-5, but its bigger and is a SUV and I would prefer a car instead. Not to mention it gets pricier quicker, especially equipped with awd. So my options are rather limited for awd platforms unless I get a SUV, or I will have to sacrifice awd and find a fwd car. Either way the impreza is still my #1 choice and I sure hope it gets here sooner than later so I don't have to choose something else.
Hopefully others are having better luck out there. I came into this experience of buying a new car (This will be my 2nd car I've bought new) happy, but as the days roll on and both SoA/Dealer unable to give me any information about the car after 3+ months of waiting, the happiness is getting replaced with frustration and annoyance! Maybe I should just wait until 2014 be naughty and get a 2.0 WRX ![]() |

You, Max, should call SoA and tell someone your story. Be patient and polite (I was) and ask them to give you a credit for your troubles and ridiculous wait time. I got $500, I think that's the least they should do for you in your situation. I have no idea why I'd be getting my car before you, seeing as I'm in the midwest and you're on the west coast. I keep checking cars.com and my dealers website every day. I see a few (12-14) 2013 5MT MBP (hatches) premiums/sport premiums around the country on cars.com. My Impreza has yet to appear on the dealers wbesite, but that's not really that important. I think I'll be waiting until the 26th, which is fine with me now that I have a car instead of a bicycle! |
