Relax, It just a car (material object), why do you get upset when GTR is discussed.

Anyways, the GTR is an exceptional sports car and the dual clutch is a match for the drivetrain. All it doesn't have is the clutch, so you lose the need to use the left foot, but you gain using left hand.

It might be fun to drive manual, but why do you suggest people aren't having fun in a DSG.

As far as driving a manual being a challenge, no it is not hard. Nobody said it was. But it is harder than putting it in D and mashing the go pedal. It is more physically engaging than flicking your finger.

There is no amount of whining you can do to make that less true. Those are not opinions, those are FACTS. Driving a manual requires more interaction with the car. That is 100% unflappable truth.

What is an opinion is that I think driving a manual is more fun because of aforementioned facts.

You can feel free to argue all you want about my opinion, but you cannot argue facts.

Um, I did not suggest they are not having fun. I have never said a DSG was NOT fun for others, I said it was not as fun TO ME because it is not as interactive.

There is a difference there that I do not think the majority of people here seem to grasp.

I have driven a DSG equipped GTI and a manual GTI. The manual was more fun to me, as I was more involved with driving it.

If you guys like DSG cars, power to you. All I have ever said, is I think it would be more fun to drive as a slick 6 speed manual, Like the R34.

I am not the sensitive one here. I just made a simple statement and the onslaught of insults began.

It’s not just the transmission for me, it’s the fact that the car pretty much does everything for you and makes you look good doing it. There is no refining your skill, sense of pride by pushing up to and sometimes the edge, no sense of balance. A Sports car is a hobby car for me, I want to drive them for the fun, not the results. If I need to get paid to win I want the best tool for the job, otherwise I want a sense of accomplishment. I want to know that I won a race based on my driving and prep, not that the machine did 90% of the skill work for me. That includes just spirited drives on the weekends. The GT-R falls in the category of a hobby/fun car even though many consider it as a daily. I would love to have all the features the GT-R has in a sedan that I could use a daily driver. I think a DSG/PDK is perfect for that, auto for the daily grind, but sport when needed, but I don’t want that for the “hobby” driving. Then as a driver a person is no better than some of the pop music groups many complain about. The ones that have the melodies written by a computer through an algorithm that says it will sell, and lyrics by some guy they have never met, only sound good with auto tune and studio work, and have to lip sync when performing live. They may be selling a load of songs, but the tech is doing all the work. I’d much rather be the guy who performs acoustic in a small club if I have other significant income means.

Hell, make it a special order, kinda thing. Even if the buyer has to wait is 6-12 months ATLEAST make it an option.

This goes for ALL sports/sporty/super/any? cars. I think there should always be an option.

That way you DSG lovers can keep your faster shifting time and get your record lap times around the neighborhood, and the manual lovers can do what we do.

i have a 2008 wrx for when i want to row gears

i have a 800+whp (built motor, built trans, full bolt ons,E85, JRZs) 2010 gtr for when i want to be faster than pretty much anything at the track, run 9.99s@140 at the strip, **** on just about anything on the streets or drive my 12 year old to school in. All on pump gas, street tires and the same tune.

The GTR was the first car I ever owned that does not have a manual gearbox and if the option was available I still wouldnt have bought a manual

It doesn't look like there will be much, if any. If there are, I'm guessing that they're even smaller updates than what the 2012 model got. But I do feel like they'll go out with a bang and release some crazy edition before they move onto the next iteration.

1. GTR Owners
2. People who can't afford a GTR
3. People who can afford a GTR, know it is "better" than other cars, but want the image associate with driving something else
