Look around on the ar15.com forums. Lots of good info over there. (Yes I realize it's more of an AK platform but you still might find the info you're looking for). Never shot a sig rifle but I've loved every pistol of theirs I've shot. I was thinking of getting the 556 SWAT SBR but decided to do a suppressed 9mm AR SBR instead. Always wanted a suppressed rifle and 9mm ammo is cheap...

Is that the monolith-type rail? Should be around $250 of so, as I've seen.

No idea, It was a gift when i was in afghan. but its just sitting around catching dust now. Also i look all over it and cant find a serial number or any thing to tell its model from. All it has is the company name, city and what i think is the date it was made.

*edit* ok did some searching its an M5 rail system.

Oof, nice. M5 rail systems are expensive gifts. BCM carries them for $390.

Sadly the street price for the ras system isn't near as high as the the retail price. It's not a freefloat system so all it really adds is rail space. It's a nice rail, just an older, less sought after design. To answer the basic question, i would say closer to 100 or so. Depends on the condition.

And here comes the onslaught, as I predicted. I've been open for two and a half hours and have had orders for 12 AR lower receivers and two rifles.

It's gonna be this way for a while. If there's something you've been wanting, better get it now before prices get ridiculous and it gets hard to find.

BTW, Spikes, DPMS, Del-ton, and YHM are backordered three months already. No word on Colt or RRA yet.

I may be going out there this Saturday though since I didn't use all the ammo I brought with me up north.

Bah, nothing changed the last time he was elected, I don't expect it to this time either. I'm sure I'm going to find the sheeple bought out all the damned primers like last time, too. It took nearly 2 years for Federal to catch up on primer orders

I don't expect any new bans either. I was just mentioning it so that you can pick up what you're looking for before prices get out of control. After last election, ARs at gun shows were going for nearly double what they were before.

The only reason prices will get bad again is that Obama has a history of strong gun control opinions and votes. That and he's from Illinois. And the NRA has been screaming assault weapons ban since 2008.

To this point, I agree. But I don't trust him in the slightest. Mostly because he's a bull****ter who hasn't kept his word on a damn thing or done anything useful in four years. However, I don't expect any assault weapons ban to be reinstated because every member of Congress who votes for it knows that they'd never get reelected.

With 350,000,000 people in America and 300,000,000 guns owned by them, our lobby is stronger than the NRA.

As opposed to any other politician?

Are you sure that stat is right? Most people I know with any firearms own multiples, I only know one or two people with only one. Keep in mind that the general hunter (which, sadly there seem to be less of these days) is probably not opposed to increased gun control in the form of registration and assault weapon bans.

A friend of mine who works in the MN DNR said that they were considering deeply discounted or lifetime deer permits for registered firearms. Since I'm not one of the tinfoil-hat-wearing types that thinks the reason for registration is so that the gov can come take my guns away I'd be open to that. Besides, the ATF already has my name through my NFA trust

I don't like everything the current administration has done, but I like hyperbole less. I'm sure we are all smart enough to express our views honestly.

Quote:
For instance, during the 2008 campaign, Obama made 508 distinct promises for his term in office. As of right now, he's successfully followed through on 193 of those promises. That sounds a little low, but you have to take into account the fact that "president" doesn't mean "dictator." A president can't just do anything he wants -- he has to work with Congress, and because Congress isn't exclusively populated by Obama's friends, it means that he needs to compromise. Which he did, on another 79 of those promises. Another 44 have stalled, while 102 are still "in the works." Add all that up, and you'll see that Obama at least made the effort to fulfill some 418 of his 508 campaign promises. Nearly half of those efforts have, so far, been successful.

Great. How's that economic recovery going for you? Because I'm pretty are it hasn't been great for the 335,000 people that applied for unemployment for the first time in the past week.

That was the one promise that I counted on him for. His promise to reverse the downtrend that we've been on. Instead we're right where we were when he came into office. Except we have more people on government assistance than before.

Now back to the firearms, because I'm tired of politics.
