Don't lump me into the same category as that asshat.

Some of us are actually responsible, and would never think of doing 130mph on a public road.

I've threshold braked at 150+mph while going over a pavement transition. Except I did this on a track - a closed course with flaggers to help me spot danger, with everyone on the property giving informed consent as to the risks of being around it.

That's a very, very different thing from 130mph on an open course with others around who don't know what you're up to and haven't consented to the risks while at night when even your brights do not give enough lead distance to properly react to dangers. And that's even assuming a highly skilled and highly trained driver with a car maintained for these speeds. I imagine we have neither of those here.

The shades of grey matter, and this is a very dark shade of grey.

With the OP, I'd say there was a complete lack of grey matter.

Most of us did stupid things out of curiosity at some point when we were young, that much is true. When you did 130, did you take a video of this illegal action and put it online for the world to see and then come to a forum demanding respect from car enthusiasts? The OP actually seems to take pride in his illegal actions and then thinks he should still be respected.

I'm 21 (atypical), my generation thrives on self entitlement. In the words of John Prine, it's a goofy world.

Its one thing to do it once on a empty road where people are CLEARLY not in view, if you crash at least you dont kill someone innocent who had nothing to do with your stupid actions. The fact that he's acting all tough and thinking he's the **** is the best part. If he apologized and said it was a one time thing and he knows how stupid it was is understandable. Coming here and trying to curse us out cause he's a tough bro and he'll do what ever he wants is another. I have no sympathy for this kid.

I think I've gone 85 before, perhaps even 90 (keeping up with traffic on highways in Mass, mostly, where the flow of traffic is often at an easy 80mph+) . That's it. I've never come close to triple digits.

You've gone 90 but never close to triple digits?

I only said "maybe 90" to give myself a margin of error. The fastest I ever remember going is 85. It's also helpful to remember that nothing is linear as far as the effects of speed go. For example, it would take over 100ft more to stop a car traveling at 100mph than at 90mph. It would take just under 100ft more to stop a car traveling at 90mph than at 80mph. I would take about 75 ft more to stop a car traveling at 80mph than at 70mph. About 50 ft more to stop a car traveling at 40mph than 30mph. I'm too stupid to do this kind of math, see it here...

http://www.random-science-tools.com/...g-distance.htm

My point is that 90mph really isn't "almost" 100. As speeds increase, these 10mph differences are worked on increasingly harshly by physics.

Edit: FWIW, the stopping distance for 130-0 is about twice that of 90-0.

Well if we're talking stopping distance I think you and your M******* commuters doing 90 all packed together down the highway is much more dangerous than 130 by your lonesome.

Just kidding, it's the same way in CT. Go with the flow or get pushed off the road.

Yea, I'm actually in CT, but driving in Mass can be insane. It leaves an impression. I think I was on I-495 a while ago, and I was going 70ish and being passed by people obviously going 80 or better. So I kicked it up to 80 and was STILL being passed, but at least I didn't feel like a gimpy fish about to get picked out of the school. Same thing happens on a lot of highways, I'm sure, but Mass always frightens me. In CT, I typically stay east of Hartford on I-84. That's comparatively a pretty timid stretch of highway.

Dangerous? Hell yea. But like you said, if you're going to go 65 on some of these highways, you'd best be in a semi or something that is very easily noticed.

As far as my 130mph video goes, it is also irrelevant to the thread, I'm glad you have enough time on your hands to troll my YouTube. Also as far as your input goes on how fast I drive, I don't really give a flying f***. It was an open road with no one on it, I'm going to drive how I want, anything that happens I'll take responsibility.
YOU have the nerve to say "very mature guys".

No other cars around? You are on a very public freeway and at those speeds your car will flip over the guard rail and kill someone coming the other direction. Just because there aren't any cars directly in front of you doesn't mean you're on a desolate stretch of road.

Your lack of experience just shines here. Someone else pulling onto the freeway can't judge that you are going double their speed and could easily merge in to your lane. There isn't a chance in hell you could slow down fast enough to avoid hitting them.

"Take responsibility", that means you'll look in to the eyes of the parents whose child you killed and tell them what? How about if you crashed and killed your buddy in the passenger seat? What will you say to his parents? Imagine what your parents would feel and go through the rest of their lives if a dumbass like yourself slammed in to your car and "took responsibility" for killing you.

YOU have a boatload of maturing to do!!!! Don't come on here asking for respect when you act the way you do.

most likely. Came in here whining about how his 100whp impreza "beat" a wrx in a "race" expecting to have people on his side, only it turns out the OP is a potato.

probably off to go commit some more reckless driving, DUI underage, etc

Looks like the OP is being flamed and I didn't read through the thread, just the first few posts. I do respect N/A 2.5's, I drive one myself. It's no WRX/STi but I think it's a fine car with a great built tag for people that don't want/cant pay the premiums for a newer WRX/STi. It's great for cross country road trips and fun through highway offramps

I know where the OP is coming from, I've put a lot into mine, most of which you can't see from the picture

You are young, immature, have no sense of responsibility, want everyone to think you're awesome, but you're just another kid. If you really want to have fun take some classes and go autocrossing.
Well if you read the original post you would read that I paid for the car so I think that makes it hard for them to sell it. Secondly my parents have seen the video so I'm not to concerned. Lastly I do Autocross. Thanks anyway
