Default couple questions if anyone is interested.

i have a couple of non serious questions to ask, i know a decent amount of subaru's especially my 04 wrx with 84XXX milles but i suppose u can never know everything.

mods= highflow catted 3in downpipe and its on a stage 2 93oct AP V1 tune

1. recently i have had a weird almost like squecky toy sound out of my exhaust when i rev it up and as it goes back to idle it will squeek also when i shut it off it squeeks? again nothing serious just rather annoying lol

2. recently i noticed it seems like im loosing boost somewhere i'm quite confident i'm not but yet last time i checked i was running 14.8psi in 4th year and now it seems like it hit 13psi and drops off using the AP V1 that is.

i know last time i checked it i was in the mountains? but didn't think elevation would screw with an electronically controlled

again neither seems serious just some things i wanted to know if you guys had a min. thanks

I'm. Fairly new to this. But from what I've read, boost leaks can sound like that, and it would also explain your loss of boost.

1) check the down pipe bracket that is bolted to the transmission. Its probably broken or possibly loose.
2) Elevation can and will effect it if you are not tuned for that altitude or didnt spend much time at that altitude for the ECU to adjust its self.

Sounds like the impeller of the turbo is starting to rub the housing. Are you having any oil consumption or coolant loss issues?

i will have to check those 2 things, and no, no loss of coolant or oil. at least that i have been able to notice and i check rather regularly. would that cause that extremely weird squeak i would i knew how to describe it better i almost wanna check youtube videos for a link on the sound closest to it. it just sounds like a squeaky toy but it only last for a brief second and it happens when i rev up in neutral as the rps drop it does it once and when i turn the car off it does it.

When my up pipe cracked, obviously massive loss of power, and a large whistling sound which was worse with more throttle...obviously.

It only squeezs as the rpms are droping, its almost as if its back fireing only with a squeeky toy Idk how better to describe it. And I just realized I was low on coolant but Im almost 100% positive I'm not burning any? And another question nothing can go wrong if u put too much coolant in the resavior right ? Lol I was freezing my ass off and put too much coolant in her I can get a pump and pump it out but if I don't have to id rather not screw with it you know

I had the same squeeky noise, it comes from the back from the arm that holds the muffler touching some metal. I put a rubber hose over it and problem solved.

Run some seafoam into your brake boosted vac line just to get the smoke and look for exhaust leaks with a buddy partially blocking your tailpipe. Found a leak a few times doing that.

Use it slowly. Don't want to hydrolock your motor. Just basically don't let it stall while sucking in the seafoam and you should be ok. VERY CAREFUL IF YOUR THINKING ABOUT ADDING TO YOUR OIL! Thins out quick so change your oil within a few miles if you decide to do it.

I have no intentions on running it through my oil, herd bad things about it especially since the oil runs through the turbo
