Default Where is my oil going? Turbo seal or motor issue?

Hey all,

I spun a bearing on my RAW Street Series block. I recently put in a new Vigilant Motorsports Street block to replace it, along with a new timing belt, oil pump, water pump, etc. I had the car tuned about a month ago and it makes great power and pulls very hard. However I've noticed recently that when I start a WOT pull, quite a bit of smoke comes out of the exhaust. It's a bit hard to tell from my rear view mirror what color it is, but it appears to be a white / blueish color. After a 300 mile road trip this weekend, I burned almost 1 full quart of oil, according to my dipstick.

I followed the break-in procedure from my builder, but I did add some boost here and there because I wanted to ensure my rings were seated properly. To be clear, I don't think this is the problem at hand. I haven't done a compression test yet, but I think the motor is OK. I suspect however that the turbo might be on it's way out, since I've read smoke when starting a WOT pull can be turbo seals. To be clear, the car does *NOT* smoke during idle or cruise, at least from what I can see, only under hard boost / WOT. I'm running the stock VF-43 on my 2007 STI. It was replaced a few years ago when I cracked a stock block, so it has about 60-70k miles on it being run @ 21psi on my old tune. The car is my daily driver, but I autocross it heavily during the summer months, and I'm currently running Rotella 15W-40 oil.

I took the downpipe off last week but didn't find any noticeable wetness on hot side of the turbo. I took a few pics which can be found below. Sorry for the iPhone 4S focus/quality. (my point and shoot battery died) Does this hot side look out of the norm? There is it a tiny bit of side-to-side shaft play, but I have read this is normal. There is no "in and out" shaft play at all.

Any thoughts? I am actually hoping it's the turbo since I'd really like to keep this motor in the car.

Thanks,
Josh

PS: You can see some smoke during one of my dyno pulls in the video below. Notice how the smoke goes away after the car gets into boost / upper RPM.
