Yeah, it should. It's really just a piece of material that sits over the top of the turbo. The shape is just contoured to go around the IWG arm. The overall size of the turbine housing doesn't really matter because you just strap it on with wire.

the camera has a preloaded adjustable emissivity value for the material that you are looking at. cast iron, aluminum, steel, human skin, plastics, etc. for those that arent sure what emissivity even is--- |

I can see your point and understand where you are coming from. For me personally while testing, listing the parts that are affected with before and after results and thinking of it as one net result makes sense to me because the goal is to reduce total underhood temps. I like to look at it this way and you do not. Your saying that its misleading because if you are holding a thermometer over the area it would only read 35F +/- less and not 70F. I totally see from that perspective your argument and I agree with you with the information that you presented. I would agree more if I was taking multiple readings from the same componant, then giving a net result. But all things aside, the data is here and there is enough that I would hope that one can see a difference that is proven. Last edited by HeroCrank; 11-09-2012 at 10:35 PM. |

I got the new turbo blanket. PTP "Lava" version. The black one is the original PTP.

Would you guys recommend this for a stock sti? It's a 13 and I already read it fits! Also I know keeping heat low is great for the intercooler, did I just answer my own question? How is hard is installation?

I would definitely get one, keeping your underhood temps as low as possible is the goal. Installation is super easy and the fit is great.

And....Mine should be here Thursday. Cheap reliability/performance mod--the 1st one that I've bought (at 889 miles right now on my 13).

covered internally with an additional material which is called Silica, it's a high temperature rated material that provides extra heat resistance and durability for the blankets. Last edited by HeroCrank; 11-14-2012 at 11:06 AM. |

I think you should ask Perrin to donate one and see how it holds up to the PTP.

Have always liked my original PTP blanket (in combination with a heatshield lined with DEI Reflect-a-goldŽ). I'll probably get a "lava" when I do a turbo upgrade. Thanks for doing the testing!

Perrin is very busy and tough to get them to follow through. But it would be a fun test to do. I suspect they would be exactly the same or similar, but you never know until I get one in my hands.
