Oh and don't be too jealous about the Bluetooth. Compared to every other system I've used, this is by far the worst. The only command mine understands is "cancel." That's when, oddly, my car starts to shake.

It does NOTHING I tell it to. I will even say, "Dial by number," give the number, and all I get is "Pardon?" or "177563829204726. If this is correct press the off-hook button or say Go Back." That's not even a flipping phone number, nor did I say ONE of those numbers! This is the point where I begin to yell and my car shakes because I'm so damn pissed off. Call quality is also piss poor. No one can hear me and 80% of the time I just turn my BT off and hold my phone like I'm some kind of caveman. So, yeah, you're not missing a thing with this terrible ass Bluetooth.
I have had no problem with the bluetooth in my 2013 WRX understanding me... it's probably your Chicagoland accent that it doesn't like

My Bluetooth understands me for the most part, but it still sometimes dials the wrong number completely randomly. Like if I say "dial the wife", even though it clearly says "push the off hook switch to call 'the wife'...", it will randomly pick some other number in my phone to call.

It usually happens inconveniently, like when I was coming home in a storm at 2 a.m. and lightning struck the tree next to my house and my wife called me freaking out so hard that she disconnected the phone and my Bluetooth.... decides to call my sleeping boss.

Or the one time it randomly decided that "dad's cell" was an old booty call whose number I kept to block while my wife was in the car with me. Yeah. I don't use those effing keys anymore.

Haha, I'm still trying to figure this out... It was 33 degrees last night, turned the car on, and the "33" on the outside temp gauge blinked a bunch of times on my '12, but no voice. Did you have the radio on? Or could it have been auditory hallucinations?

My phone is connected to car audio via bluetooth, and I leave my car radio on the Bluetooth media (like its going to be playing off my phone rather than radio or aux, not sure if Im explaining it clearly)

Makes perfect sense, that's the way I have mine set up. I usually keep the radio off though... I'll keep it on and see if it happens next cold day.

So after some research and tests, since no one else experienced this, I found out its not the car doing the voice. I am running an OBDII scanner connected via bluetooth to my phone with the Torque Pro app. The OBDII reads that it is cold out, sends it to my app to tell me the "caution" message, and since my phone's audio is hooked up to my car stereo, it sounds like its the car doing it since both the Torque Pro voice message voice and the in car bluetooth command voice sounds exactly the same (same voice model maybe). Extremely bummed out now Can a moderator please lock this thread

Haha. Yup! My crazy Chicago Midwest accent! Interesting fact...when an actor with an accent, especially those from overseas (Christian Bale, Isla Fisher) wants to develop an "American accent" they study the "Chicago accent" as it's considered to be the one region in the country with the least-effected speech pattern. So, yeah, I'm sure it's my crazy Chicago accent that's throwing my POS Bluetooth system off AND making my calls sound like crap.

/sarcastic rant

The BT on my '11 Ltd is pretty useless for making outbound calls. One neat feature is that it alerts me to incoming text messages and reads them to me - then asks me if I want to ignore, respond back, or call the sender. This all happens even when the radio is off. I have it paired to a Windows Phone 7.
