^^^ im assuming youre talking about the front flair on the bumper? it just looks like that because there is a rubber strip on the fender part making it look smaller. when you see the final pics it will make sense. That being said, i dont know about other people with flairs but there was a fair deal of fabrication that needed to be done to some parts to make them 100% flush.

Amazing progress! Liking how the motor is going. Did you sleeve the motor or just bore the block? What size crank did you get? Also what size cams?

Depending on the hot side of the turbo, you won't lose much spool time with the 100mm pistons. I have 100mm in my car with an 83mm crank on a 3076 (i want a 6266 from precision) and the 30r spools like a td04 on a 2.5 liter. haha

thanks . I didnt end up sleeving the block it just wasnt in my budget, as for the crank its a 08 "black" crank just oem nitrate treated nothing special. my old one was in rough shape. and stock cams again nothing special just did some head work with refacing valves and stuff. heres a pic of my rods and old bearings.

Nice nice, ya even just boring it to 100mm will certainly help with the spool no problem. Still liking the way you are documenting everything! Can't wait to see what it looks like when she's done.

some pics of the engine install. went pretty smoothly since ive done about 5 of these by now haha.

and then the problem.... I bought a used fmic kit that was for a 08+ sti, well i just figured id use most of the piping that fit and the rest would kinda fall in place. Not even close haha, none of the piping worked and i had to turn to my buddy Tom at ontario mandrel to make me some custom piping.
