Happy Friday folks
Finally got around to taking pictures of my car, after 10,000km of owning it.

The 2nd is a more common pic/angle. The 1st shows a lot of mods and you have to really scrutinize it to see any of the body wear.

I'm just hitting 200,000kms on my 04 and my body ripple/divots are much worse! I swear my friends revel in kneeing my car cause the passenger side is 4x worse than the driver's side..

Finished wrapping the trunk this morning, did an alright job but ended up with some bubbles. The vinyl I got does not have the air release channels that 3m advertises, so I'm not sure if I got a knockoff product or what.. The ebay seller's account is closed now so that's awesome. Was pretty cheap though at $70 for a 4x5' sheet

It looks good in the picture

I don't know how thick the vinyl is that you got, or what brand (if not authentic 3M).
But you can try pricking the bubbles with a needle. And I mean the skinniest one from your mother/wife's sewing kit.

Or, you can take a razor to it, make sure you slice at it on an angle. This way your blade only slices the vinyl, but never touch the paint. Almost like fileting. That way you can get the air out without scratching your trunk.

All in all, it takes a LOT of patience. And make sure you have some good lighting on the area you're working on. Also, don't do it while enjoying a beer or two. :P

I took the pics in the rain so it hid all the bubbles lol

The trunk under the vinyl is aspen white and super scratched from sanding it after bonding the holes (sti trunk) so I don't care if it get scratched any further. I will have it paint matched when I can afford it but for now this $70 vinyl is good enough. I will try to prick a few bubbles with a sharp pin tomorrow. Thanks

Forgot to mention, when you prick the bubbles, try to push the air towards the hole with a credit card or something rigid, but flexible. Do not do it with your fingers. You risk moving the vinyl, or worse, tearing your vinyl a new one.

Also, have a blow dryer or heat gun handy will also help. If you heat up the vinyl, it becomes less stiff, so you can "scrape" or "push" the bubble out easier.

Good luck

I know you were going for a joke, but just to be clear, that's more 'eagle eye' than 'bug eye'.

Heck it's sort of snake eyes?

My friend who works on another floor loves to barricade my car in at work and then randomly send me photos of it. People ask me how I got my own private parking spot, lol.

We don't believe you.

A) You have no friends. You're on NABISCO after all.
B) We know you put those pylons there just to protect your car. We do the same and blame imaginary parking attendants as well.

Did you leave the sun-roof open? I'm always worried that my friends, the parking attendants, are going to fill my car with packing peanuts if I leave a window open.

A) Hey I had a life before I bought a subie, it was just a lot slower, sadder one :P

B) Lol why would I need cones I'm parked between concrete pillars and a wall, I feel it's pretty safe there. What I can't figure out is why that parking stall is almost always free, it's the best one at work!

I leave my sunroof tilted most of the time...I can't see my friends being so ambitious as to cram packing peanuts through it for an endless amount of time. And thank god for that, I work in the Surrey ER, I bet they could find way worse things than packing peanuts to fill my car with if they had the opportunity/ambition.

Well you can use a gas leaf blower to get the peanuts into the car soooo fast. It's pretty awesome.

Not that I would EVER fill a guy's car up with foam peanuts and then lie to him to make him think he has to rush home early..
