Started on the sawp this evening

Only a few things that were a pia. Getting the inlet back on and the oil drain. It was easier to remove it from the bottom near the motor rather then next to the turbo. But putting the clamp back on sucked until I thought of using a zip tie to hold the clamp open. Then it was easy to slide it over the hose and then cut the zip tie to release it into place.

But got it all installed in about 2 hrs

Tomorrow ill do the injectors and tune. Hopefully

Turbo and injectors are installed

Overall not difficult more of a pia.
Cobb ots map installed currently snd car is running good. But not really a noticeable hp increase over stage 2. Expecting to see better gains after protune.

Only qurstion now is do I get the tune or wait and do ebcs and inlet first then tune.

Well today my HOA ebca arrived (thanks wtdash) and I got my stage 4 protune from Clark.

Only started it up and let it idle for tonight but fired up perfect and was as smooth as ever. Tomorrow I'll do some logging on my way to work and get any additional tweeks as needed from Clark.

Next I need to hit the dyno and see where I'm at.. Maybe after the 1st of the year.

Well its been a few months sicne I stopped by this thread so I figuered I'd post.

Car is still runing strong on the ProTune, no codes no problems. Had planned to lower it and completely re-do the stereo and speakers but ended up spending the $ on a new camera lol.

Wow its been a year since I've updated this. guess time does fly when your not looking.

Well since the last update I still haven't lowered it or upgraded the stereo lol. Ended up doing more just maintenance items, brakes, rotors, and wheel bearings.

Did install a few things (intake and catch can). Hopefully this next week I will have my fmic installed if the pipes get back from powder coat.

Also took an update pic of her

Time to start a new project for the little car. Starting a 2.1 stroker build.

EJ20 that spun a few bearings.

Debating on what upgrades to do with the heads if any

Just cracked the block today

First of the new parts to arrive

I assume you're planning to bolt on a larger turbo as well?

Another update:
Still amassing parts for this build. Almost at the 5k mark just in parts but I have just about everything I want.. Still need gauges and cluster and some other odds and ends.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll drop the block and heads off at the machine shop, depends on funds though.

Disassembled the heads

All the stock stuff valve componets

All new BC Intake & Exhaust valves and BC springs and titanium retainers

BC 280 deg. cams

new STI crank

parts came back from machining

heads fully assembled (280 BC cams, Titanium BC retainers and springs, BC valves)

Short block getting assembled

pistons in, ARP head studs in and my little one helping with the build

and where I'm at now.. trying to see what little odds and ins I'm missing r need to get since it was only a partial motor when I got it.

Oh, it will happen. I've always worked on my own stuff, but I've never had a motor out or apart. Aside from minor small engine mechanics.

My daughter is 18 months old now and every time I do something around the house she's always right there, trying to help. I can already tell she's going to be my little helper. One day we will build on something together.

We're house shopping right now, and a garage is on the list!

Anyway, I've chickenhawked this thread enough already.
Get back to your build!

Another update.. Getting so close to swap time

And before anyone points it out yeah I learned I had the wrong crank gear installed. I swapped it out for a new one lastnight

Little guy next to "his" motor as he says

new fuel line setup (going for a stealth look)

just about done..

and for a for sh$$s and giggles I picked up a 2nd block and heads. Couldn't pass on the price. Not sure what I'll build it into yet.. or what I'll do with it.
