Unhappy Dealing with AutoAnything

So my girlfriend ordered me a new INNO roofrack! yay! the only problem is she ordered the wrong one... i couldnt stress enough how she needed to order the integrated one that bolted into my factory 2010 roof points, but she ordered the one with the hooks that clip under the door!

So, what i was wondering if anyone was about to get AutoAnything to exchange the product without being charged the 15% return fee and convince them so they think they were at fault? Also I ripped apart the package that contained the keys and locks out of excitement, so... Im looking for comfort and some direction to get the integrated rack without paying.
Thanks!

So you are asking people what the chances are that you'll be able to lie your way into getting a full refund? Why don't you just try calling the company and honestly explaining that your gf accidentally ordered the wrong part? Maybe they'll offer to drop the return fee as a one time favor. If they won't, pay the return fee and consider it a lesson learned.

Just return and pay the late fee, not their fault your gf didn't listen. Although props to her for trying to be nice.

Either you need to dump your GF for not listening, or she needs to dump you for being a cheapskate.

Tell them the honest truth, they'll probably work with you. If not, pay the 15%. Getting some of your money back is better than getting none of your money back and being stuck with something you don't want.

I had a similar experience with them when the wrong color floor mats were shipped. I swear I didn't order them that way, but that's how they said the order came down.

I don't think they take the approach of "the customers always right". I paid the return shipping and ordered them from somewhere else.

So you are asking us how to game the system, and steal from a company? No, and **** you for asking. Thieves make me sick.

How about you call them, explain the situation, and if they are a decent company, they MIGHT say, "That sucks, but we like our customers. Send the old one back, and we'll send you the right one." Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy.

I have dealt with this company when I thought I ordered something wrong. After three tries, and the 15% charge + shipping, I found their ordering system was screwing up. All I got was the last order 15% off. No refund for the two screw ups before hand....

I doubt they will do much with helping you in charge, but I would try being honest and explaining gf accidentally purchased wrong item, if no luck, you can either attempt to sell, or eat 15% and get right part.

Anyone consider that the gf got the order right but their system processed it wrong or they sent out the wrong part? Had it happen to me more than once from more than one distributor. Still, that said you need to thank your gf, tell them the truth as you know it and get the new part. Also take your gf out to dinner, as a thank you for giving a crap about what you give a crap about.
