Default alarm issues

I'm having issues with my factory alarm on my 06 sti. When I hit the lock button on the remote it beeps at me 5 times. I know that means something is open so I checked all sensors. Opened and closed each door. It registered open on the dash for each door. Then I tested the trunk. I put my test light on the switch and pushed the button and it would go out when pushed and come back on when let go. So I know the switch isn't bad. Also when the trunk is closed the light in the trunk doesn't shut off. I disconnected it because the battery would die. I'm not really sure what else to look for. Anyone got any ideas?

It sounds like the trunk switch is working manually but have you proved it is working with the door closed. You say the light doesn't turn off as it should when it is closed.

All I have done is put a camera in the trunk and closed it and the light stayed on. I used a multi meter and ohmed the switch to verify it was working.

Ok, but did you verify the switch was working while the the door was closed? The door may not be making proper contact with the switch lever.

You need to find a way to check the wire connections going to the switch while the door is closed. You might be able to access them near the tail light area. If you can figure out a way to add some wires to the switch connections so you could make your meter connections that would work also. Perhaps sticking the wires with pins to make the connections would work. They would need to insulated with tape though.
