At the Track Wrx Datalogs Help

Hey everyone,

I have 2011 WRX with a cobb downpipe and cnt exhaust loaded a Stage 2 Perrin map. Everything else stock. I even used the oem heatshield by cutting it to fit around the new downpipe. Map targets 17.5 lb boost. And I'm getting around 22.5 mpg. Have been running the map for almost 400 miles so ecu can learn the map and I ran 2 datalogs but need help reading them to see if my car is running the right way.

Dam = 1 (which is good i hear)
Boost target = 18psi (ran the cobb boost target)

Basically I'm looking to avoid boost creep and wrong MAF number and so on. Not sure really about all the numbers. I took 2 logs at 45F 9:30pm. How do I upload!?!?

I think we need alittle more than docs.google.com

Look for actual boost and target boost and TD error to see how the boost is doing. Look at Feedback knock learning and fine knock learning to see if your getting any bad knock issues. you can also monitor all the cylinders for knock and see if it's happening there.

Isn't the feedback knocking in the datalogs already? I see cylinders 1-4 listed. But above are the datalogs I took. I did do the boost target monitor and it said peak was 18psi but my datalogs don't show me hittng 18psi

Sorry didn't realize the public private option but I fixed it. I have a few runs I did with 3rd gear pulls from 2000rpm to 6000rpm. I called perrin and they told me to send these to them and I did. Perrin sent me a new map saying that they adjusted ignition timing to help get rid of the knocks. But below are the Logs I sent to them with the knocks. I'm gonna take logs of the new map later.

Your way under target boost. No boost creep problems there. Would use a high wdc map to fix that. The knock is causing you to loose power due to cutting timing. Are you running 91 or 93 oct? The timing isn't all that aggressive. the afr could be alittle lean as you can't get an idea of the afr since its saturated at 11.14.

I've only ever ran 93 oct in this car. N I have a new map sent from perrin with some adjustments to get rid of the knocks. He didn't mention anything about the boost but looking at the logs it doesn't hit 17.5. The accessport live data boost target thing tells me my peak is 18 though don't know what that means. I'll run data logs tomorrow and upload

Can anyone chime in and answer a few questions? I've ran the modified map from Perrin and my Fine KNock learning and Feedback Knock is 0 through out the rpm band. The Cyl knock sum Ive been reading is just noise or something because Cyl 2 and 4 are closer to the sensor then you see noise from that and that I shouldn't be worrying about those really. But I'm still only hitting like 16psi when this map is targeting 17.5psi! Should I take some logs again and send them to Perrin asking what the situation can I get another map or my map fixed??

If its not cutting timing its not knocking enough for the computer to think its a problem. If its cold out the target boost might be alittle lower than 17-18psi peak in the base tune at 70. If ur not hitting target you need to adjust the WDC.

If it doesn't start pulling timing your probably fine. Your still way underboosting though from your targets. Need to jack up your WDC like 2-5% accross the whole RPM range. It's like a consistent 2-3psi low.

next time you log add in all the TD stuff on the list to see what it's doing.

I just recorded one run but that run was after 90 miles of driving on the map. I'll do a couple runs tomorrow and post them up again. I just figured out how to set the datalog options. Before I was setting them in just the live data and didn't understand why I was still logging data on certain things. But I'm learning. Thx for the reply.

As long as your car is learning. so if that 90 miles included some more full throttle runs. what it will do is look at the knocks and if they happen under the same conditions it'll note a problem and try to fix it.

Personally I'd go with a better tune. Torqued Preformance offers some of the best OTS maps for 08+ WRX models. If it was me I'd scrap the perrin map and go with one of these.

Did some runs with finally the correct data log list selected. Did these throughout my 1 hour drive today. Everything looks peachy to me with the knocks but I mite be a tad over the boost target of 17.5. And thanks ill look into TorquePerformance as well
