Eh, I put this up late at night. 5 speed, 155k miles, I pulled the dash to try and fix most of the cracks but they are still there. I have some of the records, I have not gotten a quote, and zero rust on the whole car (minus the rear that needs replaced.

Sorry I suck at ads. Year is 1987, motor is the stock motor M10 or M40 I can't remember. Previous owner said all the belts were replaced.

It's not a 318i or is. 318i with the M10 was only made in 84-85, and the 318i/is was only made in 91.

So if it's an 87 it it either a 325e (sometimes just labeled as a 325) or a 325i/is.

OP, can you take and post some photos of the engine? Both the 325e and 325i had an M20 engine but they have different heads and intake manifolds making it easy to figure out what engine it is. Or a photo of the tach. 4k RPM redline = 325e, 6.3k RPM redline = 325i. Big difference between the 2, a 325e makes about 121hp, a 325i 168hp.

Yeah, I was getting really confused myself. I have an 87 325 and had an 88 325. The 87 is an "e" without the "e" and the 88 was a S-eta without any letter. His part about it being an M10 or M40 (which I took to be and incorrect recollection of "M42") had me very confused.

At any rate, I think that it looks like he need to post poics of the VC&IM and/or tach to clarify.

Unfortunately, I didn't bring my DSLR with me home. These are off my Droid global, but I will have the Droid Razrr coming in the mail tomorrow, so I will take some better pics.

Dude, I could make an offer to take it away to use as a spare rally car or for parts for my current car, but you won't like the offer. I mean, the Konis have value, the car itself has value, but a damaged e30 with electrical problems...not worth taking a $1500 risk on it. Basically, you are selling a parts car.

If you want it gone and want to unload it, shoot me a PM.

Definitely not a parts car (in my opinion). The rear just needs to be cut/welded on. The car runs immaculately and doesn't miss a beat. On top of that it doesn't have "electrical problems", it is just something I missed over when putting the dash back in. The windows worked fine and so did the turn signal before I removed the dash.

How do you gather that also? I already have had offers for 1k from multiple people. If I can't get my asking price (or close to it) then I will end up parting it. I know with everything parted, including a perfectly running motor I can break 2,000. I just don't have the time at the moment for parting the whole thing out.

It's a parts car at this point, and there isn't much of a market for the ETA motors.

Floor pan looks pulled at the battery tray. That's easily a full rear clip, and won't be cheap in sheet metal to make correct.

Dash wiring/windows. You probably have the plugs for the window circuit breaker (provided it's dash mounted) and the hazard switch reversed (I can't remember when they move the window circuit breaker to the center console, and all my E30s are face lift cars). Turn signals run through the hazard switch, which has a diode to prevent back feeding, without it, you get constant on lights.

If someone wants to fix this, I have a clean spare dash for it. Or if you just need a dash.

Free bump, etc, etc.
