I think I'm gonna get these D2 Forged FMS-01 wheels for the ZO6. They look stunning on this C6 ZO6, so I'm sure they'd be equally as sexy on a C5.

What do you guys think??

Agreed. It is still a little crazy to put wheel on a car that are 25% of the value of the vehicle. Regardless if it is a Vette or STI.

They look pretty damn good though. Black on gold is sexy. I just hate rivets

While I love nice rims, you can achieve similar looks using replicas. I'm running replica rims on my M3 right now, as the same wheels from the factory are $3k plus without tires. They look identical, and actually was able to get a better offset and width. They can be easy to sell just provided you don't curb them or anything. At the same time though, sometimes those expensive custom rims can take time to sell.

M3 is getting a catless X-pipe this weekend to finish up the exhaust. Should sound like a straight racecar

Lol. I thought it would be a little louder than what it was.. Turns out it is INSANELY loud.

Going to be taking the catless pipe on and probably adding a quad resonated setup. I can barely drive it like this. It is so loud and raspy at certain load/rpms that it is obnoxious to just be in the cabin. The fiancee will never ride in this thing.

After taking it on and off a few times getting the fit right though, it should only take me an hour or so to get it back off.

You make some very good points... I've never been a fan of replica anything, but sometimes it does simply make more sense to go that route... Especially considering how amazing the wheels you have on look.

I don't even know who would make similar style in replicas.

It is, but I went the cheap route with wheels on my STi and have regretted ever since... And it's not like they are $10k a set HRE wheels lol which is insane money for wheels unless you own an exotic I guess.

V8s just sound stupid amazing with an exhaust!!

Do most people run high flow cats on there cars or the quad resonators?

There are about 5-6 V8 M3s I see on a daily basis with exhausts and none sound overly loud or obnoxious... In fact they all sound amazing!! (Even the 600+HP M3s don't sound to loud.

It doesn't. I'm being perfectly honest. I drove it last night and told myself I wouldn't take it out again till the Xpipe was off. My new one should be here today.

People are all over the place in terms of what they run, but I think I have one of the louder axlebacks. If the quad resonated Xpipe doesn't quiet it down, I think I may have to swap that out too.

I've got one. I hit a deer a few years ago and broke the driver's side light (but ended up replacing both). Its got an eyelid on it that I would take off, but may need some scrubbing to get it clean.
