ahhh so the sound IS the same just much louder (i did notice that in the video that it was louder) i was thinking it was suppose to sound deeper or something in sound. ok good to know! yes louder is good. thanks! ill have to try this once i get my foglights in if subarupartswarehouse ever decides to ship them to me.

Testing them even with short bursts in a closed garage is borderline painfully loud.

There's the oem horn ground (where it's attached to the frame), but either way I'm going to have to create a new ground harness so I may as well just go straight to the battery.

I don't like that idea. I suppose it didn't make much difference, but usually you don't bring straight to the battery for anything

got my horns installed today, here is how it turned out. I made my own bracket out of a piece of 1/8" steel I had laying around and made my own harness. took around 3.5 hours including waiting for paint to dry and building my harness.

the factory connector can be cut off an old horn and used for the harness, it is just plastic and when you cut/melt away enough plastic there is a nice metal ring that can be soldered too, which is what I did.

there is a cover on the fender to the right of the battery that i removed and mounted my relay there, it should be completely out of the elements in that location.

Looks great! I like the bracket, did you remove the bracket that comes attached to the horns (the one they tell you not to remove)?

1 (D) in the instructions. "The bracket is part of the horn assembly. Tighten or loosen the nuts of the bracket or bending the bracket will change the functionality and you will loose the warranty." (Bad grammar/spelling theirs.)

I doubt it matters much, other than voiding the warranty.

I didn't read the instructions....

I'm not sure how removing the bracket changed the functionality, they are still 80% louder than stock

Any tips on how to remove the brackets that come on the horns? Those nuts will not budge, and I need to remove them in order to use the Subimods bracket that I got.

So I just pulled my bumper (doing some other work too) and I'm seeing one horn near the bottom center of the radiator as well as smaller one under the passenger headlight. Main horn and alarm? Any input would be great!

Nice. It's nice to be at hanscom. I've lived in this area for 13 years so I know it well. What was your afsc?

I can appreciate living in one area for a while. Moving all the time gets old after a while. I was a 3E1 (HVAC) and later crossed trained into 6F0 (FM).

How did you replace the emblem on the grill? I tried on the OEM grill and that sucker is on there pretty good.

They are just overlays. The carbon fiber vinyl is really strong. The stuff doesn't move around or peel at all. I've had them on for a year now and I drive my car a hell of a lot. You can choose any color for the stars and any color for the background. I've got a theme going so I chose carbon fiber and red stars.

Put a socket on it and smack the handle of the wrench. Boom done.

Still have my hella trumpet horns sitting in my garage because I could never get them to work. Someone should give me a dumbass-proof diagram of what to do with the relay like this- http://imgur.com/9dhaDou

Although I still am tempted to not do it because my bumper never reattached right and I could only get 2 screws back in the grille due to the ****ty access.

I found a stubby phillips screwdriver really helped with putting the screws into the grille
