so what all is needed besides tranny, drive shaft and the adpater? im super interested. and how durable is the toyota tranny compared to a 04 wrx tranny?

A better diff and custom axles.
You would have to see how these guys are doing it, but a steering rack/setup that can turn wider due to the loss if the front axles would help alot. |

What's the advantage of a Toyota transmission over the welding a Subaru one as is more commonly done?

No clue where the shifter lines up. I have a w58 sitting on the side from an abandoned project that I have to use when the 07 5speed I have in my bugeye dies. I welded my center diff and took apart the 07 front axles I bought to plug the trans and hold the wheel bearings together. That was it. It slides alright. I'm swapping out my 3.55 r160 for a 4.11 r160 because I'm running stock engine/exhaust everything not worried about blowing it up yet.
